Network Marketing Success – Stay Close to the Fire (or Baby Its Cold Outside!)

To be successful at network marketing it is often, perhaps even usually, necessary to change who we are. Another name for this is personal growth.
One of the core commitments successful network marketers do is to “stay close to the fire”. By that I mean go to the activities your company has in your area, get on the training and support calls your company and/or team has, and sign up for the company web site, if that is available for you. In other words, keep connected.

You may ask, “Don’t we have enough to do with just our marketing? Well, yes, that certainly can take up a lot of time. However, staying connected can keep you in touch with company updates, tools, training, personal growth, mentors, keeps your spirits up, and can be, well, fun.

Isn’t it more fun and comfortable to be warm by the bonfire on the beach than to be looking on from afar where it is cold? It is easy to get discouraged and lose momentum when you are not close to the action, when you are not mentored and nurtured and supported. The company and team activities are that bonfire.

If you do not get this in your mind, just do not waste your time in network marketing.

90% of distributors quit UNLESS you know the secrets of a permanent downline.

The first tip: Rejection is ugly!

Your distributors hate rejection. The first thing you need to teach them after you sponsor them is the concept of needs v/s wants.

You need to teach them rejection free prospecting.

What happens usually, the distributor signs up, very excited and he is thinking if I retail products then I am going to be rich. Everybody needs my products.

So they start telling all their family about their products and guess what? He is perceived as trying to sell them stuff and they rejected him. He feels so bad afterwards.

Next day, he decides that I have to tell my co-workers about this opportunity, they need the money to pay the bills, for their kids college education, for a nice trip. So, this excited distributor goes to his co-workers and again they make fun of him and make his life miserable.

This distributor goes home and he wants to get himself under the couch and he never wants to get out of his house again.

He quit before he had the chance to do anything. Most distributors quit before 90 days!

So, what can you do about it?

1-Explain to them as soon as you sponsor them that most people need the products but they do not want them. And it is ok, they need to find the 1% of those who wants them
The same apply most people need a network marketing opportunity and success in their life but they do not wat them.

The classic stroy to tell your distributors:
We need to exercise, but do we want to? Answer: Nooo
We need to eat healthy, but do we want to ? Answer: Nooo
We need to go to the dentist, but do we want to? Answer: Nooo

2-Teach them prospecting rejection free.

MLM meets COMMITMENT




You have the right company. You have a wonderful feeling of euphoria and exhilaration.
Your sponsor has given you all the tools you need to begin your Network Marketing business. Two days later you have no recruits and you are ready to quit. Quit?…..

STEP BACK

You have just experienced the wonderful world of Network Marketing “hype”. The only reason you are reading this article is to find the key to making things happen. You want to know the answers? You thought it was going to be a piece of cake. MLM is not a cake walk. Did your family physician become a licensed doctor overnight? Network Marketing is work and it takes time, commitment to learning skills. Can I give you some advice which has proven the best for me? O.K. Set down, take a deep breath and think about the advise your sponsor has given you. I am going to assume you have a 5 Pillar company with a great compensation plan. Don’t give up so easily! Now, pick up a pen and a good sheet of paper and write the following

“I will commit at least one hour or more per day in my MLM business for 12 months” Signed: _________________ Date_________________

Place this sheet of paper where you can view it every day. This is your first big step in becoming a committed leader

LEADERS DON'T QUIT

The word “quit” is not in their vocabulary. Remember, there is more to the MLM industry then hype. You need to be committed. You need SKILLS, like knowing how to talk on the phone, knowing your product, know the Colors to Success; you need the skill of listening. Believe it or not, commitment is a skill. Commit yourself to learning everything you can about your company. Read. Leaders are readers. You can only give information that you already know.
True leaders commit to forming relationships in their organization. The leaders treat people with respect. True leaders pick a few top people in their organization and devote extra time leading them to becoming leaders. A great leader will compliment their people. It will bring out the best in them. Leaders commit to giving of themselves…it will return to you many times. Be humble. Leaders take responsibility seriously. Leaders see the Big Picture. Leaders Listen more then they talk.

SUMMATION……

The choice is yours. With self discipline, and a true commitment, you can change your future in Network Marketing. Again, the choice is yours. Learn the skills once, then put them to the test. I am glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. I was confused when I first started in MLM, but I joined a mentoring group that has taught me how to pick a company, how to learn the valuable skills needed to be successful. It has helped me understand the number one step in having a successful organization. Learning about the Policies and Procedures and the best Compensation plan for me. Once you have this in tow you can step up to the plate and begin committing your life to becoming a great leader. You too will begin to experience a future most people only dream of. Everyone loves a good story. Stories can teach us about some aspect of life. A compelling story about Network Marketing can not only engage a prospect but also can clarify concepts that otherwise would be too sensitive. Stories are a safe way to talk about wants, fears and desires.

Stories Create Curiosity

Using stories to create curiosity with a prospect will keep them on the edge of their chair. The right story can speak directly to their heart. Keeping the interest of the prospect tied to you, allows them to share their thoughts. For an example, let’s say you would like to share the idea of time-freedom with a prospect. You could start off by sharing your dream, ‘Well, one of my dreams was to wake up in the morning without an alarm clock. I know that a lot of people hate to wake up to an alarm clock, and every morning I used to wake up to an alarm clock. I'd roll over and hit the snooze button just for an extra 10 minutes of sleep. Then I’d get up and turn it off. And now, I still get up early sometimes, but I don't use an alarm clock. Instead, my eyes just open up! That's the way to wake up, when your eyes just pop open. And I don't know what some of your dreams are?’ I’ve shared my story with them and now I’m asking about their dreams.

Facts Tell but Stories Sell

You have heard that ‘facts tell but stories sell.’ Stories help convince and ground those facts. That’s why testimonials work.

Stories are Shortcuts that Speak to our Emotions

We are wired to respond to stories. A lot of times we can relate to a character or the subject in the story. Stories can be used to get a point a cross without being confrontational. For an example, let’s say you would like to explain the law of cause and effect and how sometimes this can produce a result that causes a bigger problem. You could talk about the old cartoon with Porky Pig having trouble sleeping because of a squeak and informs the Bell Man, Daffy Duck to do something about the noise. Daffy goes out and gets a cat to chase the source of the squeak, a mouse, out of the room and receives a tip. The cat then starts to meow. Porky complains. Daffy gets a dog to chase the cat away and receives a tip. The dog then begins to bark. Porky complains. Daffy gets a lion to scare away the dog away and receives a tip. The lion begins to roar. Porky complains. Daffy gets an elephant to chase the lion away and receives a tip. The elephant begins to trumpet. Porky complains. Daffy gets a mouse to frighten the elephant away. And now Porky has the squeak from the mouse.


Everyone has a Story. What’s Yours?

Think about your own dream and how you can use it to tell a story. Regardless of who you are, everyone wants equality, freedom, worth and love. Network Marketing is about creating new possibilities for people’s lives.

Network Marketing involves building relationships with people. It’s about partnering with others to help them realize their dream. Stories can help paint pictures and spread those ideas. People remember stories. Maybe the only thing you will recall from this article will be the story of Porky Pig and Daffy Duck!

Network Marketing Success – Say it With Feeling!

To be successful at network marketing it is often, perhaps even usually, necessary to change who we are. Another name for this is personal growth.

There are many books that include information on this, including Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and Advanced Formula for Total Success by Dr. Robert Anthony.
You may have learned to say affirmations day-in and day-out so that your subconscious starts to believe you and act accordingly. Did you have any positive results? If not, one of the many reasons that could cause the affirmations to be sabotaged is not saying them with emotion.

There are other reasons, too, but I’m going to focus on emotions particularly because of something that happened to me recently.

Picturing the end result you intend to accomplish should include how you feel at the accomplishment. The subconscious part of our mind responds more to feelings than to words. You do want to be carefully and make sure the feelings are positive ones. Make sure also that your affirmations are specific.

How do I know this works? I’ve been single for eight years and looking on-and-off for a significant other. Just a short time ago I wrote out a shopping list of what characteristics I want in a gentleman, was very specific, and said it out loud several times a day for about two weeks with a great deal of feeling and emotion. I have been part of singles groups in person and online. I had bogus people contact me or people in whom I’m not interested. After all this time, I was finally contacted by a gentleman who not only has all the qualities I put on my shopping list, but a few qualities that I forgot to mention. These must have been in my subconscious already. So far, so wonderful! Next on the agenda, more feeling and focus on the success part of my business.

This is quite a dramatic way for me to prove to myself that specific affirmations for my network marketing success will work – especially if I put a lot of specifics and feelings into the mix. Why don’t you give it a try?

HOW TO RETAIN RECRUITS IN NETWORK MARKETING





Mastering the Skills of retaining sponsors in NWM can take your business to the next level. The three major keys involve selective recruiting, communication and dupliction.






SELECTIVE RECRUITING

Not everyone is a prime candidate for Network Marketing. Fifty percent of the earth's poplulation should not be in NWM business. Ninety percent of new businesses fail in the first year. And ninety percent of the rest fail in the next four years! So what do you do when looking for a new prospect? The first thing to do is listen to your prospect; for a burning desire, and a big WHY. Without a Why, the prospect most likely will not fit in your organization. When talking to them, do you detect they are receptive? Can they see the "Big picture?" And, most important are they teachable?

Those that filter through this selection will be worth their weight in gold and your organization will be stronger for it.

COMMUNICTIONS

The first 48 hours is crucial for the new recruit. It is important to be honest and up front, yet sensitive to their needs. Spend time with them, listen for questions and concerns. Begin the process by teaching skills they need for network marketing. Let them know this is not a selling business, but a people business. Give them a task to do then follow up. You are looking for achievers, leaders and doers. When a task is finished give them feedback and make them feel valuable.

Keep them close to the fire. Have them join conference calls, team calls, e-mails, along with new tips should keep them connected. You cannot over communicate in the beginning.

DUPLICATION

Everything you do must be duplicated for the new recruit. They need to know each step to take what to do and what not to do. For example, help them understand that going out and making 1000 phone calls a day, or meeting a $2500 per month quota is not duplication. Neither is bombarding your friends, relatives and neighbors. Don't try to sell anyone on your deal! Instead, find a system that works for the average person who may be spending only 5-10 hours a week in MLM. Make sure your company has a compensation plan that does not take away from your recruit, but gives them the incentive to work, one that gives them every advantage.

EDUCATION

A Doctor does not get his license overnight. Nor does a lawyer. Network Marketing is no different. You as a mentor need to know every aspect of your company. Your recruit should be willing to learn about a 5 Pillar Company, learn the difference between Policy’s and Procedures. Compensation plans should also be learned. Learn the Colors to Success, how to communicate with people easily.

Do you want your business to flourish? Do you want to keep rebuilding your organization again and again because you failed to build it right the first time? Communication, duplication and being selective with recruits is the only way to “BUILD IT ONCE, BUILD IT BIG, BUILD IT FOR YOUR CHILDREN’S CHILDREN.”

Self-Talk in Network Marketing is a powerful tool you can use to go from where you are now to where you want to be.

What do you tell yourself everyday?

Having negative thoughts can stop you from living your dream. Being negative can drain a great deal of your energy. Imagine that you had an 'invisible friend' that went around with you all day, every day, and was constantly whispering negative comments in your ear! How would you feel by the end of the day? What kind of friend would he be?

As human beings we record thoughts and emotions. Every emotional thought leaves a recording in our brain. What is so interesting is, we do not record what is happening but rather what we think is happening.

It takes a mass of thoughts to develop our self-image. Other people can influence how we feel about ourselves but it does not become part of who we are until we accept it as our own belief.

What is your opinion of yourself?

Every statement you make to yourself has an effect on your mind, so be careful what you say. Words are powerful. If you choose, you can change the opinion of yourself. You can use self-talk and create the new image you desire.

So what is it that you want?

If you cannot describe it, you cannot get it.

Start by knowing where you want to go and begin to talk to yourself about it. In your mind, paint a picture of what you want. Use all of your senses… see, hear, feel, taste and touch it. Does it evoke an emotional response?

Pay attention to what you think. You do not have to react to negative thoughts your mind may present to you. You may do what you have always done or choose to do something different. Take note: it takes about twenty positive statements about oneself to counter-act even one personal negative statement.

As you move toward your painted picture, keep your mind on what you want and not on what you do not want. Going though a mental cleanse will be beneficial. This means turn off the television, radio and stop listening to the news for a while. Instead spend time with an inspiring book daily, such as the Bible. It is filled with many wonderful promises and it is a wise teacher. One favorite verse of mine is 'committ our ways unto the Lord, trusting in Him and He will bring it to pass.' We are not totally self-sufficient. Without God, we can do nothing.

Snapping out of negativity

Creating a mental picture, self-talk, that evokes emotion will produce a mighty conviction and that belief is a powerful force. When your feelings are positive and your heart is full of joy, actions will follow. The way you manage yourself in what you choose to think will determine the success in your life.

Tapping into inspiration and determination coupled with skills will aid you to achieve your desire in life. And clearing your mind of negativity will start you on the road to your dream.

Your mind can only hold one thought at a time, so make it a quality thought.

Network Marketing Success – Take It Away!

Now that you know something about compensation plans (see How to Choose a Network Marketing Company, Episode 4, and also Network Marketing: Compensation Plans), how would you interpret this:

"We’re raising the bar! " This means that beginning January 1, 2007 to qualify for the mid month bonus you’ll have to have $500.00 instead of $400.00 in retail volume.

Same company, great products – Ask yourself, where does the breakage go? To the distributors? No – to the company. Notice how this was positioned – "raise the bar", as if it were a challenge. It’s a challenge, all right! It will be more challenging to qualify for the bonus. Does it sound like smoke and mirrors to you? I see it as taking away from the distributor. How does that contribute to network marketing success?

If that were not enough, another January take-away for the same company will be the free product that for years came with the autoship. At least autoship will still have the 20% discount on certain of the autoship products, according to the company. You may ask yourself, how long will that last? This is not the first time the company has "raised the bar" on this bonus, as well as increasing the levels for various qualifications in rank. Still a great company, still great products – but what’s the next take-away?

It makes you wonder, doesn’t it, if the company has the management and experience for the growth it’s experiencing? If there’s such growth, why the take-away? Two possible reasons are greed by the management and miscalculation on the costs of the growth – back to management experience.

Wouldn't you think that network marketing success for the average, part-time networker would be better served by adding to the compensation, rather than taking away? After all, the affiliates built the company, not the management. Are there companies out there that actually add rather than take-away? Yes.

Lead generation tip: Use your customers

In order to have a balanced network marketing business you need to have customers.

The best way to get more customers is through referrals.

Your satisfied customers like to help you. Do not hesitate to ask for referrals and this is how you do it:

Hi my dear customer (use your customer name ;)

Would you please give me the names of two friends that you think may benefit from this product the way you did. Remember you are sharing your story and experience with them. As long as you do not act like a pushy aggressive salesman, all your customers would love to help you.

Now, after you get those names, you send them a post card (no emails), and this post card says briefly: I am the friend of X, and he/she thinks you may benefit from this product as he/she did.

Then, whoever receive the post card, they are going to see their friend's name and they are going to read it.

What do you think the next step is going to be?

They are going to call their friend and they are going to ask what is this about. Then your happy customers is going to do the 'selling' part. This is very powerful because that's a third party validation who has no financial interest and therefore higher credibility.

Bingo, you got a new customer. You obviously should not await till they call you, you should call and ask them what do they think about it. Do not ask if they received it, assume they did.

Then, when you get a new customer, hopefully he becomes a satisfied one and willing to refer you to other people.

If you have a great product, this technique should keep you busy for long time.

IMPRINTING

What is imprinting?
Definite thoughts and pictures we want to take place in our lives. This is also known as affirmation. To make the sub conscious mind accept our new visual images we need to imprint our dreams and goals.
1. Affirm our goals - write out your affirmation in a simple statement. By writing them out you deliberately program it into your subconscious and a visual end results.
2. Picture the end Result - Pictures yourself accomplishing the dream. You must be in the dream. This is called “virtual reality” meaning simply replace an old image with a new one. Then you can move toward that goal.
3. Feel the Emotion - The more emotion you can put behind a goal, the quicker it will come to pass. Feeling and emotion are what is needed to impact your pictures. The more you picture the finished goals, the more you visualize the pictures with emotion, the sooner the goals will be reached. The three work together. Persistence is visualization of these goals and is critical, it will be installed in the brain a consistent thought.
You must firmly believe in your goal since your consistent thoughts become reality. Affirmations are the key to changing your reality. Affirmations have gotten each of us where we are today. Depending on how much you create desire, either allows you to reach your goal or keep you from it.

HOW TO AQUIRE AFFIRMATIONS

Existing thoughts and beliefs are not easily removed and replaces by new ones. But once you have persisted and consistently replaced the old thoughts, the new one are just as obstinate as the previous. When you write down your goals, do our “self talk” at least twice a day this is the key to making sure you new affirmations are what we truly want.

NEGATIVE TALK MUST GO

To affirm and establish these new thought in your sub conscious mind let me give you an example. Which one is more positive.
Say to yourself “I earn $100,000 a year”
Now say “I choose to easily and consistently earn $100,000 per year.”
The word “choose” puts control in your statement. You own it. Now set down and write some other harmonious and thoughtful lines. Maybe you want a car, a new house, an education, or better family life. Feel the emotion of your words.

HOW TO CREAT POWERFUL AFFIRMATIONS

1. New habits must be put in the present tense because you are replacing old habits and idea.
2. Always affirm what you want, not what you don’t want. You never try to remove but replace with visualizing the old gone. It’s very important to make your WANT an improvement.
3. You must be specific. Again make it “I choose” and make your goal specific. “I choose $100,000 a year” not “I choose financial success.”
4. You must trigger feeling and emotion. Put as much excitement as you can into your affirmations. Make it positive.
5. Focus on the best possible outcome. Here again be specific. Don’t just say I want a new apartment.” You might get a new apartment that is very small and uncomfortable.
6. Make a positive statement. Do not use words like
No - Not - Never - Don’t - Try - Maybe
Example: “I choose to get rid of my headache.” (Negative)
“I choose to have my head feel calm and relaxed.” (Positive)
7. Affirmation must be personal. We cannot have a desire for someone else. It can only be for us. However, I can affirm a change in me that may affect a change in someone else.
8. You cannot make comparisons. The only person you want to compete with is yourself.
9. Affirmations must be believable. If you try to affirm something you cannot accept, you place unrealistic demands on your performance reality which causes stress and anxiety. The key is BALANCE. Plan your affirmations so that you grow in all areas of your life.
10. Keep your goals to yourself. Only reveal them to people who are like minded. Be in a group, a down line with people who want the same things you do.

Why do you need affirmations? It will keep you aware of where your priorities are whether they are in business or in your personal life. To be a great leader you need to use these techniques to keep your organization growing and thing will run smoothly.
Remember the word “choose?” Look at these statements or positive affirmations.
“I choose to believe there is a Power working thru me to manifest good in my life.’
“I choose to love myself unconditionally, no matter how many mistakes I make.”
"I choose to enjoy my life, my profession and my relationship with people.”
“I choose to make my affirmations regularly, each and every day, twice a day”

Have you heard some say Network Marketing is a numbers game?

They tell you not to worry. Just go through the numbers, buy more leads. Just keep recruiting. It’s all about the numbers. Talk to everyone about your business opportunity. Get them in on your deal.

Let me ask you to look at your family. What number is your husband or wife? What number are your children? What number is your Mother? Are they not people? How would you like to treat them, like a person or as a number? People are persons. A prospect is a human being and has dreams just like you. They have feelings and have experienced life you cannot imagine!

Some Network Marketers will say just go out there and get 100 'no’s'. The more 'no’s' you get the closer you are to a yes. Why they say for every 99 'no’s' you are bound to get one yes. Let me ask you if one 'no' hurts, why do you want to experience 99 more? And by the way, what kind of energy do you think you produce when you receive 'no', positive or negative? Rejection hurts.

The scheme behind the numbers game is as follows. The Network Marketer gets a prospect on the sizzle call and starts putting pressure on them. The Network Marketer will say ‘which credit card do you want to put it on?’ or ‘you have to make a decision today’ or ‘this deal is only good for today.’ That’s when the prospect speaks in code. They will say something like ‘I have to think it over’ or ‘I have to talk with my spouse.’ What the prospect is really saying ‘I don’t want your deal. Get out of my face.’ Then the prospect hides from the Network Marketer and refuse to return their calls. All the while they are thinking, “They never wanted to know me before, and now all of a sudden they want to be my best friend."


Network Marketing is a relationship business

Network Marketing is not a sales business. Statistics show 92% of the population hate pushy aggressive salespeople! People join people. They do not join companies. People do not care if the president of your company drives a Mercedes or how many children they have. Instead Network Marketing is a teaching and mentoring business. Our product is people. So study people. Build people. People will build the business. When you build people, your retention rate goes through the roof.

A Network Marketer who sponsors a person will know their WHY, their dreams, their goals, spouse’s name or children’s names. A keen network marketer will take the time to see what is important to their sponsor and what they want to change and improve in their life. Making their dream a priority in your initial conversation will surprise you at their response to your interest in helping them achieve their Dreams.


Therefore help people, build a relationship with them, care about them, protect their best interests and desire a conversation of quality with them. Be a servant with a mentor’s heart.

Network marketing tip: Stop mailing

by mail is possible but very difficult.
It requires many skills, mailing blindly is like flushing your money in the toilet.

What are the difficulties of network marketing mailing compaigns?

1-Targeted list
2-Well done written message.

In order to mail and get response, you need to mail to the appropriate people, who are predisposed to read your message and act on it.

There are mailing lists brokers who would sell you names depending on your intrests: mlmers, health oriented people...

The problem with those brokers is they are exactly the same type of people who sell you leads: they want to rip you off with useless names, completley untargeted and sometimes just extracted from the phone books.

You need to have a high expertise on picking those mailing lists by checking the SRDS and you need to know how to talk to those vampires (list brokers)

The only way to find the responsiveness of this list is by testing: mail and see what happens if anything.

The second part is the mailed piece.

You can mail either post cards well written that leads your prospect to dial a 24h recorded message, and allow them to leave their names if they are intrigued.
Obviously, you need a well designed card that triggers curiosity and intrest. The recorded call should be really sizzling ;)

You can mail long letters: it should be written by professional copy writers. Don't you ever write it down yourself.

Even though it may be possible to find good prospect this way, you may have to hire people to design those post cards, and write a script for powerful presentation.

And you need to test!

If you are not ready to blow off thousands of dollars, then you need some practical lead generation without going bankrupt.

Do you know what will happen if you try to build your organization without a relationship foundation? When a crisis comes along, you will loose part of your people and will have to start rebuilding again. Why would you want to waste your time doing this? Why not build your business on relationships first, establishing a solid foundation?

WHAT MAKES RELATIONSHIPS SO SPECIAL?

You want to be able to communicate as if your business life depended on it. Be a leader who can differentiate a warrior from the tire kickers. You need to be knowledgeable about your business. Know your products and be able to give support to your team members. Communication is a contact sport, so do it early and often. Talk by phone exchanging ideas or call them just to say hello. Relationships have a short shelf life. No matter how persuasive you are , no one will remember you from a business card. One of the biggest mistakes is not following up once we have a lead. Yes, leads are usually from your cold market, but with communication you can turn a potential into a warm market. Feel out a potential team player who has a vision the same as yours. Send emails, this is the cheapest line of communication if you are on a shoestring budget. Send an email letting the person know you are glad to meet them and would like to contact them as soon as possible. Send them new information, tid-bits you have recently learned about. You want to reinforce who you are immediately. You need to know when a person is ready to meet you and talk to you. You want a person who is going to be with you for a very long time. You will need to apply consistent efforts, along with determination, focus and be committed to your organization. Reach out to a potential partner. Peak their curiosity, make them want to know more about your company and you. Leaders are readers.

DUPLICATION OF RELATIONSHIPS - A MUST

Once you have established a know, like and trust, you want your new business partner to duplicate the same relationship you have formed with them, again and again. Building relationships will create strength and long term stability for your organization. Persistence in relationships is a virtual must. It is the key element to network marketing success. You need to keep on keeping on! Along with persistence you will need to make sure your partner has patience because it will usually take about a year before the awesome growth will kick in. This is part of your solid foundation you do not want to overlook.

CONCLUSION
It is a sad statistic; most network marketers fail and it is often traceable to the fact they did not exhibit enough persistence and patients to continue constantly promoting their business for the year or so that is required for success. Make sure through a close Relationship with your organization they realize those who stick with it for a year or more often end up becoming the proverbial heavy hitters. Keep relationships moving by becoming a leader who cares. Be a leader who reads and shares small new tid-bits to improve your team. Be a leader who isn’t afraid to communicate. Be persistent, remember to be patient with your new-bees, but keep them moving, helping them to build relationships with new contacts. Not only will their network marketing business become a success, but the spillover will help your organization also. I encourage you to keep Relationships at the forefront of your network marketing business.

When someone asks you what you do for a living, what do you say? Do you stumbling to find the right words? An ideal response, a 30-second commercial, when used correctly can be a wonderful tool for Network Marketers.

What is a 30 second commercial?

The 30-second commercial is a concise, carefully planned, and well-practiced description about your product or service that an eleven year old child can understand. It is not a sales pitch. It flows smoothly and easily from your lips to your prospects ears.

How to develop a 30 sec commercial?

1. To start your elevator speech, have a clear cut objective in your mind. To find your objective ask the question ‘what do I want to achieve?’

2. Get to know your listener. Know as many facts as possible about your prospect. What are their likes and dislikes? Use the color technology to identify their personality.

3. Get to know what your prospect is going to want from you. Put yourself in their shoes and become the prospect. Think like your prospect. Make a list of what you would want to hear. When composing your speech keep in mind people are always more interested in how you can help them. Think in terms of benefits.

4. Ask yourself, what is the one thing above all others that will give me a favorable reaction? It should be easy, simple and un complicated. It should cover the heart of the matter and be something you can comfortable build a case around.

5. Create curiosity. What is the most unusual part of your subject? Now reduce it to a sentence. Is it catchy? Is it attractive? Does it cause people to remember you? Is it compelling?

6. Add humor but be careful you do not offend someone. The best humor is often based on your own personal experience.

7. Decide if the 30 sec commercial is better served as a statement or a question. Which captivates the most attention?

8. Be friendly, warm, confident and project passion. A smile is often the best way to show friendliness and enthusiasm, while a strong, firm voice the best way to express confidence.

Besides knowing the 5 pillars of a Network Marketing company and understanding the color technology, having an effective 30 sec commercial is worth its weight in gold. An intriguing 30 second commercial will engage the listener, prompt him or her to ask questions, and keep the conversation going. You will become a walking, talking, attracting machine.

How do you present your Network Marketing business to a prospect?

Does it take you 45 minutes to complete the presentation? Do you find you need to use closing techniques to overcome objections? Are you successful? Does your new affiliate stay in the business or do you have to coax them every month? Are you UNcomfortable with this approach? If so, read on.

Guess what?


Your prospect ONLY wants 3 questions answered.

1) How much can I earn?
2) What business are you in?
3) What do I need to do to earn it?

Let’s say you are having lunch with a prospect. They complain how expensive things are or how they wish they could own that shinny new SUV parked outside the café widow.

You say, "I just found out how to get an extra paycheck every month that could pay for the monthly car payments. If you would ever like to know how, I would be glad to tell you, meanwhile pass the chips."

If they are interested they would say something like. "Oh really, what’s that all about?"

Here’s what you can say.

‘I can tell you but it will take a whole minute. When can you set aside a entire minute?’

Everyone will usually say “Right now, please”

You say, "If you would like to earn $500 a month extra, there are three things you must do.

1. Don’t change. Be yourself. Continue to promote and recommend the things you like as you are already doing, such as the movies, restaurants and music and other products you enjoy. That's pretty easy, right?

2. I’m in the wellness industry. You know how people take Vitamins and have 8 or 9 different bottles they have to open. We have the entire Vitamins needed for the day packaged together. People who take them experience more energy.

3. In order for you to earn $500 per month all you have to do is find 12 good users that want to enhance their health just like you."

How to close

Simply say...... "So what do you think? Now it’s up to you."

Conclusion

Let your prospect know they already do Network Marketing everyday! They already recommend and promote what they like. It’s human nature. They will be thinking,' hum I’m already Network Marketing. I can either pick up a check or continue doing it for free. '

Keep the presentation simple. In fact, avoid a lot of details. It can confuse your prospect out of making a decision. If your prospect is interested he will ask for more. Remember, you are not responsible for their decision.

Network Marketing Success - How to Choose a Network Marketing Company, Episode 4

COMPENSATION PLAN


According to longtime network marketer and student of the industry Michael Dlouhy, there are 5 pillars for success in network marketing:
1) Company Management Experience (and Integrity)
2) Timing in the Company (and in the Industry)
3) A Remarkable Product
4) Compensation Plan
5) A System for Success.



There are several types of compensation plans (click here to see Deana’s excellent article Network Marketing: Compensation Plans).
Plans include the Stairstep, Breakaway, Unilevel, Binary, Matrix, Australian Two-Up and the Spillover.

Were you aware that the compensation plan drives the behavior in the field? Deana touched on this. If you have a compensation plan – and remember, this means HOW YOU GET PAID – that does not pay you if someone you sponsored is moving faster than you and gets to a level above you, would you have an incentive to help that person get ahead if you will no longer be paid on their production? Would your upline be motivated to help you if you were the person moving fast?

How would you feel if your company only allowed you to be paid on those breakaway people when you reached their level or above? How would you feel if you knew you would never be able to pick them up again? Do you expect to have network marketing success with a company at which you had to work so hard? This type of company is more suited to the red personality See Nabil's article , who represents only 15% of the population (see Deana's article Network Marketing and The Choleric - "Reds")

Wouldn’t you rather affiliate with a company where the average person can make money to supplement his/her income? Doesn’t it make sense to seek out a compensation plan where you get paid on everyone you introduce? Michael Dlouhy says to only consider plans that pay on volume. Michael Dlouhy recommends choosing a company that also pays on retail sales volumes, as well. Not everyone wants to be an affiliate, but may just want to purchase product. Network marketing is a system of product and service distribution. There needs to be a product or service! That leaves out the Spillover model, where people sponsor other people and for the money to “spillover” from below – this system doesn’t work and is bogus.
