Network Marketing Success – How to Choose a Company, Episode 2

Do you know what to look for in a network marketing company to give you the best opportunity for network marketing success?

According to longtime network marketer and student of the industry Michael Dlouhy, there are 5 pillars for success in network marketing: 1) Company Management Experience, 2) Timing in the Company, 3) A Remarkable Product, 4) Compensation plan, and 5) A System for Success.

A COMPANY MUST HAVE ALL OF THESE IN PLACE for YOU to have network marketing success for the long term, to know that the company will pay your children and your grandchildren.

Assuming Pillar 1 is in place, without which the others do not matter (see Network Marketing Success – How to Choose a Company, Episode 1), the next pillar is TIMING IN THE COMPANY, Timing in the INDUSTRY - both are extremely important.

Do you receive by snail mail, e-mail, faxes, flyers, phone messages, the person on the street, hype- invitations to join a fabulous, hot new start-up company? Have you been invited to start at the ground floor, the only way is up? There might be a basement! Do you think a tumble down the stairs is worth your recovery time? Michael Dlouhy tells us that 99.99% of start-up companies do not last 2 years.

What can happen with a start-up company in the first 2 years? Mistakes, lack of experience, no real FOUNDATION to the business, no groundwork for success in place, and plans not going as originally envisioned, among other things. What do you think happens when the product or service is not tested enough or just not desired by the public? The business goes nowhere, or has an initial flash and then has a burnout. And how would you feel if you had invested your time and money in this business only to lose your shirt? So much for network marketing success! And how would you feel if you became disenchanted and quit only to see the company flourish later with new people coming in?

Remember we talked about reading the company’s Policies and Procedures before joining a company? If the new company doesn’t have any yet, where’s your contract for doing business? What would happen if you joined the company because you really liked the format and the management changed it because it didn’t work or for whatever reason, and now you don’t like the new format?

Do you think that a better way would be to wait until a company has passed the critical stage – at least 2 years in business – for you and people you affiliate with to have network marketing success? At this point you would also have a good idea that the service or product is wanted by consumers and the timing in the industry for this product or service is not too late – or too early. How can you have network marketing success if no one wants what you have when you have it?

So, doesn’t it make sense to be aware of the timing in the company’s lifeline and timing in the industry before you commit YOUR valuable time and money to an opportunity?

Timing in your MLM company is important and so is timing of the product you represent. Thanks Wendy for the valuable information.
