Do you know how to coach someone for network marketing success?

Coaching someone is done by permission. The coach asks permission from the coachee to be coached. It it not a good idea to assume that someone wants to be coached. If they don't you are wasting your time and possibly damaging the relationship.

This is a relationship business, after all, isn't it?

So asking for permission is the first step.

As a professional health coach, I have learned and, indeed, experienced first hand how non-adversarial permission-based, co-active coaching can be quite effective. Co-active means that the coachee is working with the coach in a give-and-take session, with the coach steering the coachee in a direction the coachee needs or wants to go by asking questions and very careful listening.

The coach does not make assumptions. The coach may make guesses about the coachee put in terms of " I sense that", or "I'm feeling that" and ask the coachee if they are on the right track. Why is this important? Because must of the time the coach is wrong!

So why do we make those guesses? Because it stimulates the coachee to think and either corroborate what the coach is feeling or try to come up with the real issue, or at least explore the issue. If this is set up properly, the coachee does not take offense but knows the coaching is designed to help the coachee help herself.

Why am I talking about this today? I just received an email from someone in my network marketing organization sideline to me who listened to me on the Coaches Corner Mastermind call Saturday night. This call is hosted by Mentoring for Free and is a great, safe place for personal growth. Many of us have aired personal issues of all kinds from not thinking positively to needing to move beyond the hurt from all kinds of abuse. This is a loving place where people from all over the world listen and participate.

This is based on lessons we go over from reading books - right not we're on Step 2 of Joe Vitale's book Spiritual Marketing. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it - you can get it from the internet; just google it.

When we go over the lessons in the mastermind group, we learn more from other's insights that may not be apparent to us. We all come from different experiences.

Anyway, the person who sent the email made an out-and-out attack on me. She made assumptions that were wrong and she didn't bother to ask me questions to clarify. She could have said that she "felt" thus and so from what I said and asked if that was correct? She made some religious assumptions and spoke in an insulting manner. I actually felt as if I were slapped.
She made recommendations for me that have nothing to do with my interests, not having bothered with what I have done in the past. She knows little of my personal journey and implied that I am not working on myself at all. She picked up on partial information and exclaimed "how dare you" regarding a personal event that she absolutely got wrong.

She ended the tirade with "sending it with love".

Well, it didn't feel like love.

Caution - if you try to help your downline like that, i.e, in a non-permissive, judgemental way, you not only ruin the relationship, you probably nuke it.

The judgement generally has more to do with the person pronouncing it than the one receiving it.

How Much Are You Being Paid in Your Pay Line for Network Marketing Success?

Can you answer this question - How much are you being paid in your pay line for network marketing success? It's amazing to me, now, that most distributors have no idea and do not know how it works. I used to be among you.

Does that mean that I know everything about my pay plan? Not everything, but at least I have a good idea about most of it.

The point is, that I know how many levels down I get paid in my organization. Do you? I get paid, well, unlimited levels. There is almost no breakage. Meaning, I don't have to go wide to be paid deep. That's not to say that if I go wider it doesn't benefit me, it does. But pay doesn't get cut off after a certain level.

Now, I have a friend who was with another company and ended up generating $250,000/month in volume and took home a check for about $2000.00. That should be criminal.

Why did she get so little? This awesome person, who just loved the products, saw the pay plan cut 9 times in 7 years. So at the end, most of her volume was generated outside her payline.

She had built that organization, trained it and then the company took away profits that were rightly hers. Definitely, it is not a 5 Pillars company - it lacks integrity. It changes the pay plan to benefit the company and screws the distributors.

Well, they lost my friend - she went to another company, which now has the benefit of her great talent and building capabilitiy. And you better believe she chose a 5 pillars company this time. She's found a home for the rest of her life.

What's a 5 pillars company? That's a great question. I'll go over that next time. It's so important that we cannot teach it enough. I'll give you a hint - it has something to do with integrity and management experience.

PLEASE DON’T ASK TO JOIN MY TEAM if you don’t have a conscience!

What do I mean by that?

When I was doing Arbonne International as a business, we learned to do the “Puppy Dog” method. This entails buying the top of the line skin care product – 3 or 4 or more sets – to get them out into the field for testing. The theory is that once people tried it, they didn’t want to give it back and would purchase – just like people not wanting to give back a puppy. Unless, of course, you’re like me – I prefer cats and birds. Not together.

But in reality, those sets are too expensive for most people, so they’d be encouraged to join as a wholesale buyer to get the discount.

What behavior does this drive in the field? Recruit, recruit, recruit.

Would you really buy these products if there was not a business opportunity associated with it? Or alternatively, a wholesale opportunity?

Think about it. The discount is generally 35%. But if most people only buy as a wholesale buyer, for the basic consultant they would get only 4% on a wholesale buyer under them and nothing on their own orders. For the first step of management, now you would earn 8% on everyone under them down a certain level (won’t go into that here) and including their own orders. But you have to have a lot more people buying to make the money you’d make from a retail purchase. Of course, most people won’t pay retail.

Doesn’t that sound like a recruiting rather than a retailing behavior to you?

Anyway, back to my story. I tried the “Puppy Dog” on a young lady who wanted to do the business. She spent $1000 or so on 4 kits and I was ready to train her. But she was shy, didn’t know many people and I could never get her and her boyfriend to come to train. Eventually she changed her phone number and e-mail and I couldn’t reach her.

Deep in my heart I knew it was wrong to have recruited her this way. It is contrary to my personality and certainly to hers. She did have good product, and hopefully used it or sold it or something. But I still feel terrible about what I did and cannot do it again.

I had to switch to a company that pays 20% to 40% on retail products. That also means that the retail price is the same as the wholesale price. That sounds better than 4% to 8% to 14% (for the next higher Arbonne management level). You can make more money on fewer people. It also means that I can retail and it is not necessary to recruit. Most people don’t want to sign up – just get their product.

The upshot is I was never meant to recruit. Do people join me? Sure, if they want to get bonuses and get some extra income and be trained and plugged into a system that is proven and works. Most people just want to be customers. Not only is that okay with a company like mine, it’s encouraged – the idea is to sell product, not just to recruit.

The other benefit to being with a company like mine is that not only the retail customers tend to stay, but there is a higher retention rate for the business builders. What a concept! Retention.

Network Marketing Success - Are You Listening to Hype?

Do you want network marketing success - are you listening to hype? Are you tending to jump at any pre-launch, promise of big bucks right away, get in at the ground floor?

I wrote about this recently and have receive a couple of comments saying that my article was interesting and then there was a link to a pre-launch.

The interesting thing about all these pre-launches is that they use the fear of loss as a method of enticing people in, i.e., you must get in now to get the big bucks.

Well, I ask again, why would you put money, sweat, tears, time into a company that isn't proven - around for at least two years? Do you know the background of the people starting the company? Do they have a policies and procedures that will change, that are as long as a novel? Is the compensation plan going to change many times? Do they make deals?

Do you want to be in a company for a possible quick flash in the pan - maybe - or do you want to have long term residual income that will let you actually retire and not have to keep on working, that will pay your children's children?

There are so many scams out there - new ones every day. Check out MLM Watchdog.com. Google the company name or the head guru's name and put [scam] next to it. Do your due diligence, protect yourself.

Policies and Procedures for Network Marketing Success

I don't know why I should be surprised that so many people still do not read their company's Policies and Procedures for network marketing success. I know better, now, but did not pay attention to them when I was with my former network marketing company.

They are your contract for how to do the business with the company. Would you purchase a house without reading the mortgage contract? A car without reading the lease agreement?

Millions, billions of dollars are spent in the network marketing industry. This is not play, folks, it's serious business. It is, after all, network marketing. Yet, most network marketing players treat it as play. They join people who also haven't read the P & P's with wide-eyed wonder. They go into debt, sometimes in a small way, sometimes in a huge way, without so much as a "how does this really work".

The big network marketing companies are very slick at creating the vision of the dream. Usually they do not have a workable plan or system an average, part-time networker can plug into and be successful with. Usually only the full-time, aggressive personalities actually succeed. They create the illusion that if they can succeed, anyone can. After all, they are no smarter than you.

The numbers of people who fail and go into debt or just quit tell otherwise. Many people believe in network marketing but cannot find a company and plan that they can work and be successful.

How do you tell if a company is a good one to try? For a chance a network marketing success, read the Policies and Procedures. Do they say you have to have ongoing activities - run away. Do they say they can terminate you at any time for any reason or for no reason, or, the new one, for cause? Run as fast as you can - you'll never maintain residual, recurring income, no matter how hard or long you work if you want to actually retire.

Do you have a Policies and Procedures you cannot understand? Let me know and I'll help you decipher it. Do not try to interpret them - they say what they say, written by lawyers for the protection of the company. I'd be glad to help you with any P & P's you have.

If you cannot find them or they're not available till you join - run, run, run.

Are there any good companies out there? Sure. The trick is to find them.

Network Marketing Success - Grieve and Let Go

Are you with a company whose products you just love, but you are trying to make money and just can't? You may just have to, in order to obtain network marketing success, grieve and let go.

What do I mean by that?

If you have the big dream, but are unable to make any headway towards it, this may not be your fault.

Take a look at your company's compensation plan, systems to succeed, policies and procedures. They may be extra difficult for you to do, perhaps they are not in alignment with your values, your personality. If you can't do it, you can't do it.

Why bang your head against the wall or even go into debt?

I know that it's hard to admit that one company is not for you. You may feel disloyal. It's okay to use the products and move elsewhere for the business opportunity. Of course, you'll have to check the policies and procedures to see if there are any restrictions, which in themselves could be a reason for lack of success.

If you are willing to work hard, it's not your fault.

Home Base Biz Opportunity | 7 Figures in 7 Years

So you understand the value of having a home base biz opp and see the potential of 7 figures in 7 years. You have asked yourself “Can I do it?”

The second question folks frequently ask is “What do I have to do?”

The answer is in the power of one. Build your biz one person at a time and teach others to do the same.

Simply by sponsoring one person a month and by them sponsoring one person a month by the end of the year, you will have 4096 people in your organization.

Let’s say that in the twelfth month everyone in your organization ordered $100 worth of products that they use everyday without thinking about it. That would be $409,600 of sales.
At the same time, you teach your people to find just one customer every week and they order $50 worth of products every month. That volume would be $819,200 in the twelfth month.
In the twelfth month you would have moved a grand total of $1,228,800 worth of products.

But you say, “That’s in a perfect world.” Okay, what if you failed 90% of the time and only generated 10% of that potential? That would be $122,880 in the twelfth month. Even if the company only pays you a 5% commission, in the twelfth month your check would be $6,144.

That’s the power of leverage. The power of one. It all starts with one.

Network Marketing Success - Anywhere You Go

I'm out here in the Tallahassee, FL area visiting my fiance (sorry fellas!) working on creating network marketing success, and I do it anywhere I go. You can do it, too.

How do I do that? I just keep my eyes and ears open, wear any t-shirts, buttons, or use my products on the plane, in restaurants, stores, etc.

When people ask you about the button or products, you answer the question simply and then find out about them - those who ask.

Listen and observe carefully to find out what color personality they are, and then you know how to talk to them. This is a great way of having them be attracted to your.

Of course, you have to move products to have network marketing success, but it is, in the end, a relationship business. People join those they know like and trust. What better way to instill trust by showing others that you know them, and can help them.

MLM Prospects | Are They Qualilfied?

Why do we treat all MLM prospects the same? Are you in the market for a new house? How about a new car? Or, say, a new spouse or partner?

No, No and NO

If you answered No, No and NO, imagine you were approched by someone offering any of these things. Is it safe to say you wouldn't be interested? Probably.

I find many people wasting their valuable time and precious energy prospecting others who are not interested in either their MLM products or MLM business opportunity. They end up getting frustrated and dejected because they weren't given this one little tip:

Quailfy Your MLM Prospects!
So often we are told, talk to everyone you meet, share your MLM products and MLM biz opp with all your friends and family, your mouth is your office keep it open and keep talking.

In your heart of hearts, does this really make sense to you? Do you really think that everyone is a MLM prospect? Will you take anyone that will fog a mirror into your business?

If you answered yes, then we need to talk, because not everyone is qualified to be in your MLM business.

Need vs. Want

One thing I learned early on is this, people might need what your MLM opportunity or product has to offer but they may not want it.

There is a clear difference here. Just because people need what you have, that does not make them a MLM prospect......they have to want it too!

Good MLM Question!

Here's a great question you can use while doing your MLM prospecting.

When you hear someone complaining about something you can help them with by either your MLM business or products, listen to what they are saying then ask, "Would you like to do something about that?"

How simple is that? Just ask a question. Don't barrage them with all of you incredible MLM features and benefits, keep the focus on them, ask that simple question and listen, I mean really listen!

You may be surprised to find out that the person you're talking to actually likes to be unhealthy or poor. Don't laugh....it's true! That's the way some people get their identity.

The MLM Secret

Here's the secret, don't talk to them about your business or products. They won't buy anyway and you'll have wasted a TON of energy trying to convince them that they want what you have.

Save that energy and put it towards something that will actually benefit you, like finding and talking to qualified MLM prospects!

Network Marketing Company | Would You Join This One?

I was talking to a lady the other day who told me she was looking into starting her own Network Marketing company.

Nothing new here, happens everyday. Someone has a product and the best way to get it to market is through Network Marketing.

I asked her what her product was. She proceeded to tell me it was a device that you attach to your car's engine that converts tap water into a hydrogen fuel. "It saves gas and lowers emissions, it's the most incredible thing ever invented."

A Metoo Product

"Not another gas thing", I thought, but we continued.

I asked her, "Is this a one time MLM product sale? If it is, how are people going to create a residual income? The first item to look for in a Network Marketing Company are products that are consumable, where's the consumable part of that?"

She answered, "Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that out. But it's really not about the money, we are saving Mother Earth. It's all about the Planet."

Red Flag #1

"OK", I thought, "Just what people want to do in MLM, not make money." MLM Red Flag #1.

"I'm curious", I asked, "Don't you need a special convertor for the tap water? I mean you can't just put tap water into a hydrogen cell." (The only reason I knew this by the way, is it just so happened my husband, son and I were talking about Honda and the other big car companies coming out with hydrogen type engines in the near future.)

Red Flag #2

"Oh, no", she replied, "This inventor has made it so you can use actual tap water, nothing special is needed. It's the most incredible thing since the combustible engine!" OK, MLM Red Flag #2.

The REALLY, REALLY BIG Red Flag!

The conversation goes on and I ask her about the EPA. "Surely you've gotten all the testing you need to do to get the claims you making past the EPA." I ask.

There is dead silence on the other end. Uh oh, I'm thinking. So I continue, "You do know that you can't just put a product out there and make a whole bunch of claims before you pass all of the EPA testing.....right? I mean, the government will come and shut you down in a NY minute if you do that. It has happened to a few companies within the past 6 months."

I could hear her catching her breath, "No," she said, "I didn't know that. You mean we can't just set up the company and start offering the product?"

"Well, I guess you could, but you won't last very long."

"Wow, I guess I'd better start looking into that."

I agreed and answered some more questions.

The Most Important Item in Network Marketing

When we got off the phone I kept thinking about everyone in Network Marketing who has joined a company that doesn't have Pillar #1 in place.....Company Management with MLM Experience and Integrity.

If you don't have that, you are already dead before you start.

You are putting your future into the hands of people who either don't know how to run a Network Marketing company so it gets run into the ground. Or, people who know how to take all of your money and leave you high and dry. Either way it has a bad ending.

Network Marketing Success - Motivation vs Empowerment

For network marketing success many companies and uplines host meetings and phone calls for motivation purposes that are designed to get their affiliates into action. Does that really work? And, what's the difference between motivation and empowerment?

Motivation is an external thing. This is the "rah, rah" mentality reminiscent of a revival-style meeting, with upbeat, usually loud music, bright colors, and everybody on stage or giving testimonials is successful. There's lots of stimulation. Most people are really "up" at the meeting or phone call except for the ones who are thinking "I can't do that!"

Have you ever been on the motivation roller coaster? I have many times, so I can tell you from experience that's when I left the meeting or call call all fired up, all pumped up, and when youI got home or off the callI had that deflated feeling. "I can't do that." "What was I thinking!"

Have you ever had the experience that the motivation just doesn't get all the way home with you? That's the external. It doesn't change you, it doesn't make you feel you can "do it". It often, if not usually, doesn't last. It doesn't empower you.

So just what is empowerment?

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary has 3 entries for "empower".
1) To give official authority or legal power to (act on someone's behalf)
2) ENABLE
3) To promote the self-actualization or influence, i.e. women's movement has been inspiring and empowering women.

Well, from that I would surmise that in that last definition the gist would be empowering women to do or be something.

I like the word "empower" and the meaning enable. It implies that the power comes from the inside. It is quieter and more stable, long-lasting and stronger than motivation. It doesn't flame out.

Since empowerment is internal, inside you, inside me, it can be woven into our beings. It can be acquired, inspired, nurtured, coached.

In fact, as a professional health coach, I appreciate how empowering people allows them to break through some of the blocks they have to improving their health.

How is that done? It's through empowering messenging - it's how we talk to the people we coach. Can that translate to network marketing coaching? Absolutely.

What kind of a message could you say? Without a complete coaching here, you could say something like, "You are a sensitive person who helps people". "I see how committed you are to reach your goal".

Network Marketing Success - Are you in the "Now"?

To have network marketing success you need to be in the "now". Are you?

What does that mean?

If you dwell too much on the past, beyond what you need to know as a background for your business, it is impossible to be very successful. If you live in the future too much, you will have the same result.

Nothing happens in the past or the future.

You can use the past as a springboard, you can use the future to hold your vision of what you want it to be.

as a professional health coach, I can tell you the the work, all actions, take place in the "now. Our lives are a continual series of moments. "Now" is where the "doing" is.

Network Marketing Opportunity with Answers

The Network Marketing business opportunities are endless. Every imaginable service, product and program is available. And, you want to find our about them. You have a dream, you want to work from home, you want your time to be yours and you don’t want to do lots of work. What is the criterion in a company that gives you the best of everything? Do they pay on a true residual income or are they a network marketing business that is ongoing? The answers to these questions are crucial.

FIRST, let me advise you of the word N-E-T W-O-R-K-I-N-G. It means exactly what it says. Networking. It is a business that requires self discipline. If you cannot give of your time faithfully each and every day, if you cannot routinely set a certain amount of hours per day to learn skills and do the work, then stop reading this article right now! I am serious. This business is a business of concentration, devotion, integrity, discipline, and know that you need to work hard now so that in a couple years you can set back and relax. You don’t need to be “red” to do this. You need consistency. It is a numbers game, but you can close the gap, by working very hard.

You are very wise to investigate a network marketing business opportunity before you join. There are good ones and bad ones and the bad ones are usually very bad. The compensation plan is very, very important. If your compensation plan in company A is a stair step breakaway then you will have breakage. If one leg passes you in rank and or volume then they break away. Read that again. I don’t know how you would feel if you recruit, recruit, and recruit only to have them break away from you because they were doing the business a bit faster then you. You might want to ask yourself where does this money go? Does it go to your up line, or maybe the company?

The binary plan is just about as bad. You usually have two legs. You must keep them even if you want paid on both. What? Yes! Otherwise you only get paid on the weak leg. If Sally Jane is on the strong leg and wants to bring someone into the business and you know when she does it will stop your paycheck, you cannot say “No don’t bring them in,” This plan is not a good plan for advancement.

You need some answers right? You have come to the right place because we will not mince words. Our team helps people understand Policies and Procedures, plus Compensation plans. We talk to people about the gotcha’s in the plans. We get replies like “that has to be there. It’s in all the plans”, or “I write Policies and Procedures and I am O.K. with it”, or “my company would never do that to me”. Want to bet! Why do you think companies hire lawyers for their network marketing business? So the top 5% or so make the money. You think you can get there easily? Do you listen to all the hype and say….”I can do this”.

Learn the skills. Learn how to look for a Five Pillar company. Look for one whose top leaders have been on the bottom and have pulled themselves up by their boot straps. Look for a good product that pays you on volume. Look for one with a true residual income, one that will pay your children’s children. Look for a company who has a product that screams to be sold. We call them “purple cows.” Do research on the company. Learn the “colors” because it will help you understand how to talk to people. What type of people will work best with you? You can control what type of people you want to work with.

Also, there are 7 Keys to forming a successful business. Two have to do with you and the other five the company. Learn these seven keys. Arm yourself to the teeth with knowledge, so that you won’t be one of those unfortunate people whose bank account gets much lighter as a result of paying out thousands and thousands of dollars and not making it. It happens everyday. We get calls from people who are emotionally and financially drained because they have been ripped off, and hyped out. You have a chance to learn and we would like to give you that chance. What does it cost? nothing only your long distance phone call. We can and will help you.

If everyone in your town decided to jump off the bridge and it would kill them on impact, would you do it too, just because everyone was doing it? No! Then learn the difference between joining the first company that promises you $40,000 the first month or that within the year you should be making $100,000. Do the math. Figure it out. It doesn’t take a Philadelphia lawyer to understand, it’s either illegal, a bunch of hype, or a ball faced lie. Most likely all three.

Network Marketing Success: A Culture of Truth vs Arbonne International

When I think about network marketing success I think about the culture that a company creates. Some of this is dictated by the Policies an Procedures. Some of it is dictated by the compensation plan. The truth about Arbonne's compensation plan is that it is a stairs-step-breakaway plan.

What does that mean? When Arbonne shows the different levels of achievement and position status, it looks like a stairway. You qualifiy by producing so much in sales, whether you purchase it yourself or other people do. When you reach a certain volume in a certain time period, you can advance to the next management level. It's actually more complicated than that, but the gist is there.

The breakaway comes if someone you sponsor builds faster than you and they pass your level. In that case, you lose much of or most of the volume they have created and your check drops. Ergo, unless you are building as fast or faster than they are, you lose out, you don't get paid on everything.

What culture does this create? Well, a distributor who is passed by will either work harder, or tend to not help their recruits as hard, or will look for another company, or just quit the business.

Network marketing is an awesome business, but the truth is that a majority of the people are average part-time networkers who never make any money. The truth is that most of the people who sign up with Arbonne never make any money. They are just wholesale buyers and join to get the discount. Arbonne is great at weaving the dream of unlimited income, but the truth is, the vast majority of average part-time networkers will never have that dream realized with Arbonne.

Arbonne has great training and my experience was with the company that I really needed to change who I was. Arbonne says you have to work very hard. Well, that is correct. It is, after all, network marketing and not netplay marketing. But average part-time networkers never have a chance. The compensation plan is too difficult to qualify for much if any money. And I know a lot of people, besides myself, who bought the next position and believed if we just got there the rest will follow.

What follows is debt.

The truth about Arbonne is that the products are great. It is a great company. But there are other companies where it is easier to earn that few hundred dollars a month that can be the difference between bankruptcy and no bankruptcy. By the same token, it would be easier to earn a legacy income where you can retire and live the life you always dreamed of.

Remember, if you cannot make it with Arbonne, there is nothing wrong with you. It is not your fault. You need to make a distinction between the products and the business.

Network Marketing Success and Arbonne International Frustration

How does network marketing success and frustration with Arbonne International connect?

Last week I was removed from the Arbonne International Yahoo Groups access. This is a place where people exchange information. The reason was that some people came across some of my blog articles and considered that I was bashing Arbonne and that wasn't good for the group.

Sometimes people do not want to look at the truth. When I point out clauses in Policies and Procedures and explain them relative to the 5 Pillars to Success model, there are many companies who do not measure up.

I understand that people have emotional attachments to their companies and the products. How do I know this? Because I had that attachment. I had a terrible time admitting the truth, that I could not be successful with the Arbonne business model.

The products are great. That doesn't make me (and a lot of other people) any money.

I believe in network marketing. Arbonne is great at spinning the dream of long term residual income. The meetings are fun and exciting and rah, rah. They are very motivational. Motivation is an extermal thing. I would go home from the meetings and think, "now what?" I couldn't change me on the inside.

I went into debt trying to build the dream. I could not turn myself into the person I needed to be to build it the Arbonne way. Most people cannot. I have spoken with and heard many other people just like I am - people who did what we were told, went into debt, but could not build the business.

These people, just like I was, wondered what was wrong with them! What's wrong with me, that I could not build the Arbonne business with all these fabulous products. I had all the tools, I called people, bumped into people, gave samples. I now belong to the NFL - No Friends Left.

I could not be, and these other people could not be, the kind of person who is successful at the Arbonne business. I felt guilty. What was wrong with us? What was wrong with me?

Nothing was wrong with us. It is not our fault. We simply could not make money with that business model.

I have also pointed out language in the Arbonne policies and procedures that points to "ongoing" activities that Arbonne requires business that means that you cannot stop doing them and still expect to be paid. Whether or not the company would enforce that is debatable, but then why is it in there if they never intend to use it?

In addition, Arbonne states in at least 2 places that they can terminate you for no reason.

So, if I point out things that you should know as an Arbonne consultant and that you should know before you sign up, I am revealing what is true.

If I caution people not to get into debt like a lot of us have done trying to build a business we cannot build, I am providing a service. If this makes Arbonne consultants feel threatened in any way, that is not my intention.

I invite anyone who is frustrated with building their network marketing business with Arbonne International or any other company and anyone who is contemplating doing Arbonne or another company as a business, to use the Mentoring for Free system for skills training. Find out what makes up a company friendly to do business with - friendly to the distributor, not just to the company.

If you are a part-time networker, do you want to be paid for what you do? Most companies only pay the top 5%. I'd rather see all you part-time networkers be paid something.

When I say be paid, I mean earn money after all your expenses.

Sometimes we need to separate the products from the business. If you cannot do a particular business, find one at which you can be successful.

Network Marketing Success and the Frustration of Falling In Love With the Product

So many times people equate falling in love with a product with network marketing success. They feel that if they love the product then everyone else will love it as well and they'll have no trouble selling it.

This does not necessarily follow. In fact, it usually does not. More people fall in love with the product and can't sell it.

Why is that? Well, It always goes back to a couple of things - 1) the Policies and Procedures, which details how you are to do the company's business, and 2) the Compensation Plan.

How you are allowed to do business is dictated by the Policies and Procedures. The Compensation Plan.

How hard do you have to work to get paid? How long do you have to work to get paid? Do you get paid to retail or is the emphasis on recruit, recruit, recruit (also known as Vampire Marketing - new blood, new blood, new blood)? How many people do you have to have in your organization to make the money you desire?

If you love the product, great. Buy it. Buy it at a discount, if you can. But I would advise you to see if the business aspect is feasible for you if you decide your primary goal is to make money.

Find a company where the average part-time networker can make walk-away residual income. This means you can retire and still make money, assuming the company lasts. Anything less is a waste of time and money for you. Don't you deserve better than that?

Network Marketing Success and Denial

Network marketing success depends on knowing your company's plan and how to work it.

If your company changes the compensation plan to make it harder for you or pay you less, if they institute more restrictions beyond the usual due diligence, wake up and smell the roses.

I wanted to go into the concept of DENIAL. I talk to a lot of people in denial about their company.

"They won't change it again". "It's for the good of all of us". "I just have to go along with it".

As a professional health coach, I deal with denial. In my profession we call it "pre-contemplation". This is where the person does not know or denies he has a problem. Until a glimmer occurs (if ever) that there is a problem with whatever the issue is, no change for the better can even begin.

I would spend some time "raising the consciousness" of the problem. Only then can you learn about the problem (contemplation), take steps to prepare to do something (preparation), and then do something (take action).

My purpose is to raise your consciousness and get you out of denial before you put too much of your time and money and effort into a company and comtemplation plan that is not, cannot, and will not work for your long term success.

On one of our team calls we had a gentleman tell us that when he learned about the 5 Pillars to Success information he was angry. Angry because his company was not a 5-Pillars company. It was missing Pillar 1 - Company Management Experience with Integrity. He said he did not want to admit that he had been wrong in his choice.

A few months later he came back to Mentoring for Free phone call trainings. He had come out of denial and decided to do something positive for him. He changed to a 5-Pillars company.

Network Marketing Success and Arbonne International - The Frustration of Denial

What is network marketing success to you? Is it to build the business and then be able to stop and go to the beach? Is to be able to will it to your children and your children's children so that they can keep collecting the residual income check?

This is the promise, the dream of network marketing!

This is the vision the mlm companies weave for us.

We've spoken before about reading your policies and procedures.

Those of you with Arbonne International who think you can have walk away residual income, think again. The frustration I see is found in section 3.2.1 Support

3.2.1. SupportIndependent Consultants must have ongoing contact and communication with the Consultants in their downline organizations. Examples of such contact and communication may include, but are not limited to: newsletters, written correspondence, personal meetings, telephone contact, voice mail, electronic mail and the accompaniment of downline Consultants to Arbonne meetings, training sessions and other functions.

The above paragraph was cut and pasted from the Arbonne document June 26, 2006.

I highlighted the word "ongoing" in red so that you would not miss it.

"Ongoing" means that you cannot stop. If you stop the company can stop your check. You cannot retire. So why would you want to build the business with this company?

And you cannot let people "interpret" what this means. It is what it is. It says what is says. The attorneys wrote it.

The attorneys work for the company Arbonne International and this language is not in the interest of the distributor.

I've talked to people about this and they are in denial about the consequences of this language. They have loyalty to Arbonne. I understand that. I did, too. I found it emotionally difficult to admit that I had to build somewhere else. That's okay. The people who "get" it will be better off. The others may take some time to "get" it. We all hate to be wrong, don't we?

Don't get me wrong, Arbonne is a great company and has great products. I use some of them.

I could not do the business. Most of the Arbonne consultants I know also are not successful doing the business with this company.

My recommendation? Be a consultant to get the products at a discount. The prices are high anyway. Do the business with another company. People who are in denial - well, that's their problem.

Network Marketing Success - Lead Generation Tips

NETWORK MARKETING SUCCESS – LEAD GENERATION

More people everyday who want success in network marketing are asking about lead generation techniques.

Most organizations today are not teaching new recruits the art of lead generation techniques. Most network marketers are left to struggle and learn by their own mistakes.

These techniques should be taught showing the recruit that that they can be rejection free.

Here are some of the ways to generate leads

1. As you listen and talk to people on a daily basis, you need to listen to their complaints, and when you hear them complaining, ask them “Would you like to do something about it?”

2. Big “AL” Tom Schreiter has an approach that is completely different. He will ask the question “What are your two major health challenges?” or “What are your two major financial concerns?” Usually, they will definitely tell you. Then you ask, “Would you like to do something about it?”

3. Some companies think that Business Cards are the answer. Most beginners in Network marketing buy expensive cards with their company log on and start distributing them. This does not seem to work in network marketing. Even though it may make you feel you are doing business, it is a waste of money. Most cards end up in the garbage can. However, if you put information on the card which will drive the person to call you or lead them to a lead capture page, then you may see a little results. Big Al’s favorite trick is a simple message: Call xxx-xxx-xxxx and request your free copy of the best seller book “How to get rich without winning the lottery.”

4. Collect Business cards: this is a good lead generation technique for you. Call them as leads.

5. Place your cards strategically. The Growth Pro system is based on this technique. You may leave them in magazines if you are in the doctor’s office. Maybe you want to have them listen to a conference call. Other people use the fake ‘hundred dollar’ bill with a curiosity message that leads to calling. The call back phone number should always be a Voice mail.

6. Some prefer Car Signs. Driving to work with a car sign on your car is cheap and is one to get peoples curiosity and usually commands attention. It should never be the name of your company, but a purchased domain name which will lead you to the web site.

7. T-Shirts are another form of advertising. Here again the shirts should trigger curiosity and command attention.

8. Buttons are yet another way to demand attention. Some companies have built an empire with buttons. Losing weight is a great way to tell everyone you have. Again, do not use your company’s name; use a slogan that will command attention and curiosity.

9. With Door Hangers success depends on the neighborhood. With this method you would need to include an offer and a deadline to create urgency.

10. Give away an ebook which can help you learn skills. Not only will a free ebook give you some great techniques, but help you to understand other ways of prospecting

If you want network marketing success you need every tool available for you and learning the techniques of lead generation skills will lead people to you.

Network Marketing Success and the Frustration of Not Being Paid What You’re Worth

Network Marketing Success for most average part-time networkers very much depends on the company’s compensation plan. Most of us are in the 95% of network marketers who are part-time in the business and about 5% do it full time. Most network marketing money goes to the top 5% of the earners and not to the 95%. So as a part-timer, what do you think you’re worth? Are you frustrated by not being paid enough?

If you are among the people, which most of us are, who do it part-time, how much time do you have, how hard do you want to work, and how much are you willing to spend to earn some extra money. Remember what you actually earn is not the discount, and is not just the checks you receive.

You earn what you receive minus your expenses. Are you in the plus column or the minus column?

It would be helpful to know on average what percent you are paid and then what you actually clear. In my company the average payout on the products sold is 50%. We are not including bonuses because I’m interested in walk-away-residual income. (With the bonuses it can go as high as 89%)

By the way, when you compare product payouts, use the retail prices, not the discounted or wholesale prices. In my company everyone buys at retail.

Another great way of knowing how you get paid is approximately how many people do you need in your organization to make an extra $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, etc. each month for residual or recurring income.

In other words, how many people does it take for you to build it once and then walk away while you collect the residual income if you wanted or needed to do so?

For example, in my company it takes about 25 people ordering regularly to earn about $500 a month. For about $10,000 a month it takes a maximum of 400 people either in your organization or ordering regularly. You don’t have to find them all yourself, either.

Business Opportunity from Home - 3 Reasons for Failure.

During the short time I have been involved in the network marketing world I have become aware of one thing. When people look into a business opportunity from home they are so full of dreams of success that they overlook three important reasons of possible failure.

We get hyped up about a business from home because we can be our own boss. We don’t have to do the nine to five routine. Think again!

Do you have the discipline to follow the basics of network marketing?

Can you make yourself get up in the morning and do what needs to be done during the day to get positive results in a home based business? Do you have the organization skills?

The three major reasons people fail are;

*NO SKILLS

Do you have the skills to do a business from home? Do you know how to advertise with pay-per-clicks, ezines, blogs or a great press release? Do you know the Colors to Success, or how to be a Color Profiler? Do you know anything about a 5 Pillars Company? How about getting leads? Oh, this is a subject unto itself! Do you know how to retail? Is talking on the phone easy for you? Network Marketing is about relationships. Are you aware that listening is a skill?

Lets say you have all the above skills. You know all about advertising and so on. Now to find a company. You find one and you are off to a big start. Then suddenly, for no reason you are terminated. Terminated! Yes! Maybe for listening to another company leader tell you what a great deal they have, trying to convince you to join their deal, only to learn you were turned into your company headquarters, which in turn can and will terminate you because the P&P’s say so. You think this is far fetched? There are companies with such wording in their P&P’s.

Read, and reread your Policies and Procedures. Remember if any company wants your signature on the bottom line before you have read your P&P’s, I don’t care if they are selling gold at $100 an ounce, read the P&P’s first. Read them until you understand them. If you don’t, and something bad happens, no one is to blame but yourself. You can save yourself so much frustration and eventual failure. Get with your upline, or find a mentor that can help you understand your P&P’s. Find the bullet points. Maybe there are some
“gotcha’s” that will work against you down the line.

Read your Compensation plan. Understand them before you buy into a company. Will you be getting a great reoccurring income? Make sure your P&P’s don’t say words like “ongoing” or “termination”. You say they really don’t mean those things that they write in P&P’s. What did they write them for? You bet they mean them. Why would anyone sign an agreement with a company who could terminate you for listening on the phone to another person talk about their company? Why would anyone sign an agreement with the words “ongoing?” READ, READ, READ.

*DO NOT BELIEVE YOU DESERVE IT

We were all made with the same inner craving to succeed. We want to achieve a better life. We have a dream to be wealthy, to have a big house, to be the CEO of a company, or whatever it is; we have a dream of wanting and needing. And you know what? You deserve it! You deserve to have everything you have always wanted for you and your family. Preparation, research and asking questions of other network marketers is a safe way to approach a new business. Talk to someone who has been in the marketing business for a few years. You deserve your dream. You deserve to be wealthy. But do the preparations first. Your road will be so much smoother.

What to do?

Make the most of it. Don’t fall short without the skills and the knowledge of what you need to do to succeed. Don’t waste your time with the companies that hide “gotchas” in their P&P’s. Go ahead buy the product if you like, but don’t join them. Join a company that has the 5 Pillars from the beginning. These companies think about their distributors because they have been in the trenches themselves. It is the only way you will make it. Ask the thousands of people who have worked for years to build a company only to have earned a few hundred dollars. Ask them about the wasted time they spent building for nothing.

Am I scaring you away from network marketing? I hope not. When you open the door to the marketing world be prepared. Only you can choose what you want. Only you have that special dream. Don’t throw your dream away on worthless companies that are here today and gone tomorrow. Stay away from the hype, the front loader companies or a one product company.

Take your dream and go with it. Let your business opportunity from home be fun. Let it be profitable. Learn before you begin your business, so there will be no chance at failures because you deserve it . Don’t let failure be in your equation. Learn first so the three big reasons for failure are not part of your business opportunity adventure.

Network Marketing Success and Arbonne International - Behavior in the Field

Long term network marketing success has a number of factors involved, including the compensation plan, the product, and company management experience with integrity.

Arbonne International is a stairstep-breakaway company. What does that mean? It means that in this compensation plan when someone you signed up promotes before you promote you lose a lot if not all of the volume they created and your pay goes down.

So what kind of behavior does that drive in the field? Does it promote an incentive for you to help your downline to succeed beyond their wildest dreams? Probably not, if your dreams are not furthered, unless you have extraordinary integrity.

Does this model promote an incentive for your upline to help you beyond your wildest dreams if it is not in their best interest?

I have heard through a reliable source from Arbonne, but cannot verify, that recently some people were terminated and a vice president’s check was held for a while because people in the organization were teaching others to change into a new upline using a fake name so that they would not promote out and their volume would still benefit the new upline.

Again, I cannot verify this. I do know that it happens in other companies. As far as I’m concerned this is a legitimate reason for people to be terminated – those who practiced this kind of behavior. Why would these distributors take this type of action? Because it’s so hard to make and maintain the volume business to keep the payouts. It's difficult to find people who will do the business - and you have to have separate legs to promote beyond the basic management level. The only reason the Arbonne distributors were caught, as I understand it, was due to computer system enhancements at Arbonne that allowed Arbonne to track the computers involved.

I will reiterate that I love Arbonne International products. They have great ingredients and give great results. But I cannot do the business. My dreams of network marketing success have taken me elsewhere.

NETWORK MARKETING – HOME BASED BUSINESS

As I roam around in cyberspace doing research on different subjects for my network marketing business, I am amazed how fast home based business are catching on. This could be for many reasons. Gas is getting higher and traveling to work has become expensive. With day care costs going up because gas has gone up, because groceries now have to increase their prices, because shipping has gone up on everything; we seem to be at a catch-twenty situation. People who once scoffed at Network Marketing are now asking questions. They want answers.

Usually, people do not like the job they are working at. Either the boss is to bossy, or the fellow workers are jerks, or you want to better yourself. During the late night hours, when everyone in the house is asleep, we find ourselves sneaking to the computer room. There, with the lights out, we get the computer running, go to Google and do a work search on home based business opportunities to see what might be available.

Go ahead and look! But, do not stop your day job. If you think network marketing is a fast and big money game, forget it. Oh, there are 2-5% of those beginning with a internet business that make it big. These are the few that wallow through the ups and downs of network marketing and after their savings is gone and they have been beat to the ground, finally give up. But there are those who take the time to read good books about becoming wealthy, listen to informative speakers who already know about network marketing, taking the time to learn while they keep their day job. These are the those who get up in the morning, hit the ground running and make every second count. They want success. So, what is the primary agenda to making it a success?

First let me say up front, if you have any negative qualms about your dream, your goals, or the sacrifices that you will make along the way………don’t start in network marketing When you see the words Network Marketing, it is just that net – working, working, and working. Nothing is free and easy. You do not make it overnight. You need skills. You need time to practice these skills. You need confidence, a happy countenance, integrity, credibility and patients. Oh boy, heavy on the patients! You can have enthusiasm until the cows come home, but without action you will go no place. Again, the bottom line, learn the skills first while you have your day job. Take a look at some of the following reasons for starting a home business. Then ask yourself if they apply to you.

• MONEY – we all want more money. Every penny counts today. So we want to join an organization that will make us a good amount of money up front and one that will pay us good residual on the back side. Don’t go out there and join something because you like it. Who knows, maybe 85% of the population doesn’t even want to know about what you are selling. So, pick a product that people are looking for.

• YOU ARE THE BOSS – that’s right! Do you have the skills to be a boss? Think seriously about this question. If you know nothing about organization, or being a leader, maybe you will want to simply sell the product and forget about having your own organization. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, it is work. Stop listening to the hype about making all this money over night. Be objective. Don’t start unless you are in for the long haul, because it will be a long haul.

• FREEDOM – You will see many article about the freedom you will have. I say yes to a point, but don’t count on the hyped up “freedom” many marketer’s will try to feed you. The freedom lies with the ability to stay home, but until you are established solidly within an organization, stay with your day job.

• JOB SECURITY - After the skills learned, after putting down a solid foundation to your organization, after 2-4 years of part-time to full time building the business; then you can say…”I have job security.”

• RETIREMENT - When we talk about retirement, we want to be able to have an income that is adequate for our needs. If you want a retirement that is great, then you need to build toward that end. You are the only one who knows what amount of money will satisfy you when you retire. Let that be your main goal, then work your butt off now to that end. Be relentless. Show your spouse what you plan on achieving. Maybe together, each working a different business, you can reach your goals sooner.

• KNOW THE 7 KEYS TO SUCCESS – You will want to learn about joining a company that has 5 Pillars. Learn to evaluate Compensation plans. After all don’t you want to know how you are going to get paid? You will also want to know the Color to Success You are saying…what? Oh yes, know how to read people, by listening and knowing their personality. Know how to Build the list without spending thousands of dollars buying worthless leads. Understand how to be a Color Profiler . Again knowing and understanding people by being able to walk into a room and without talking to anyone, know their personality by the clothes they wear, by the talk they talk and etc. Your Why must be huge. Learn to know why this is so important. Be a leader. People don’t join companies, they join people.

You might want to ask yourself is this all there is to marketing? No! But it is a start. Maybe you picked up some negative talk in this article. No, it is not negative, but reality. Get any good marketer in the corner, back them to the wall, and they will tell you the truth. If you can reread this article and ask yourself the question, do I have what it takes to start a home based business, and answer yes. Great! A home based business can be fun, exciting, and very stimulating! If you are ready to start, let’s go!

Network Marketing Success - WHATS IN A NAME

I ask the question what’s in a name relative to network marketing success? This question came to me out of a recent change in a company I have been affiliated with for a good number of years; the company decided to change its name. I liked the name it had previously and I do not like the new name very much. I started asking myself if they can change a name what else are they looking at changing: the pay plan, the products, the quality of the products?

Am I am just being paranoid and making up stories? I don’t think that is always the case. I have seen many businesses compromise their values, looking only at the “bottom line”.

The whole point of this conversation is that you need to be alert and keep abreast of what is going on with your particular company. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, give feedback and get involved with your company. The status quo is always in flux.

Sometimes changes are good for network marketing success and companies outgrow processes - so make sure you are with a company that puts its customers, clients, and distributors FIRST.

NETWORK MARKETING TIPS – IT’S ABOUT DUPLICATION

There is one thing about Network Marketing that will lead you to failure and that is not knowing how to duplicate what you have learned. If you cannot teach, mentor and support your new recruits; if you think all you have to do is get them in the deal, you are wrong! You will be working until dooms day to have a successful team and have any residual income.

Some of the old adages to duplicate were, have in-home parties, or get 10 people to your house, serve them cookies and punch and have a conference call with one of the leaders in your company.

Another one was make a list of 100 family and friends. Then call them and say to them “You know George, you owe me a favor. I need one more recruit this month to make my quota. Sure like to have you help me out.” You think this is nonsense? Well, it is, but it actually happened to me in a former company. Even if you were lucky and had a friend who would do this for you, in a couple months the guy would say, “Hey, I don’t want to belong to this company. I don’t like being charged $39.95 each month for nothing.” So, your friend quits. And you get a charge back. Whoops! You already spent the money! I personally knew a fellow who had about $2500.00 of charge backs. I wonder what happened to him? Once you get behind on a situation like that, it is virtually impossible to catch up.

So, what do you do?

You need a plan, a step by step plan that is duplicateable. It should be easy to follow and one that anyone can teach. Most people when joining Network Marketing want a company they can work part time. One that they can learn skills and develop relationships. Network Marketing is a people business.

Keep in contact with your people; let them know you are there for them. The quicker you can teach them, the quicker they can be advancing toward their goals which in turn is going to help you. You need to be able to answer their questions. These actions will cement the relationship; build trust and confidence among your team members.

You need to be able to see the potential of a good team member. Spend extra time with those who are willing to go the extra mile and learn. Keep in contact with them every day until they can step out on their own. Make sure they always know you are there for them.

Teach them how to build their list by writing articles, ezines, pay-per-clicks or newspaper ads. Discourage them from buying leads. Most of the people on these lists have simply filled out a form which if they complete will let them enter for a $10,000 jack pot or a new computer or whatever. They have no intention of joining Network Marketing. When you call them they usually don’t even remember filling out a survey. Not very many folks have had any luck with them unless you can buy 30-40,000 and run them through an auto-sponder.

Teach them to test the market. There is lots of free ways to advertise on the internet. Teach your recruit to not spend lots of money in the beginning, but try their wings a little bit in different types of advertising... Write articles; get the feel of bidding on pay-per-clicks. Help them learn how to have their articles proof-read so they can post a press release.

Help them learn how to do a great headline. Learn how to use overture and do a word search which will get articles higher on the search engines. Learn how to make articles have good content and utilization of words.

Learn duplication, make notes so you can pass on to your recruits the same information you are learning to have a successful organization in Network Marketing. Take them to the top with you. You will be glad you took the time to learn duplication.

Network Marketing Success and Arbonne International – Compensation Plan

At the end of the day, network marketing success for the distributor is based on how the compensation plan works. Certainly, consistent action by the distributor is also involved, some skills are necessary, and teamwork is important. But it doesn’t matter how hard you work if your compensation plan is not set up in your favor.

I’m not speaking here about what’s good for the company, but what is good for the distributor, without whom the company does not make any sales.

As you may have read from previous entries, I tried to do the business with Arbonne International. I love the products and still use many of them. But I cannot be successful with the compensation plan.

Now, I am not going to describe the various comp. plans here. For that I recommend you take a look at Deana’s excellent article on those.

However, I will tell you that Arbonne International uses a Stairstep Breakaway model compensation plan. Since the company is over 25 years old, that was the model to use at the time. Easier plans have come along.

After years of struggling, spending money on training, tools, and far away conferences to acquire new skills, I got that uh-oh feeling that I now understand as "red", aggressive, salesy behavior that is so contrary to my personality. In fact, during one of the last trips I made with my Regional V.P. the most important discovery I made was while riding in the taxi with her and another RVP back to the airport:

After all the people they had in their organizations and the years they had put into the business, their monthly income was only about $4,000 and $3,000 respectively.

That was the final piece of information I needed to convince me I was in the wrong business. I didn’t know what to do until Mentoring for Free came along.

I will explain next time more about what the Stairstep Breakaway model means in practical terms. For now, the easy way to determine how a compensation plan works is this: Ask your upline how many people in your organization on a regular ordering program it takes to make $10,000/month in walk-away residual income. Do not include up-front bonuses. And how many legs do you need to have?

In my company it takes less than 400. How many in yours?

You can do the same for smaller amounts, say $500/month. In mine – approcimately 25.

So, how hard do you have to work for network marketing success? As an average, part-time distributor with Arbonne International, can you do it?

Arbonne International and Network Marketing Success - Can You Be Terminated for No Reason?

Last time I said that I would take a look at the compensation plan of Arbonne International and how it drives behavior in the field for network marketing success. I'm going to put that off for a while, because while I was looking through the sign-up documents I saw the one I want to point out to you. I'll make this short and sweet - regarding being terminated for no reason.

When you sign up, one section of the agreement states, and I am copying it exactly as it appears today May 13, 2006:

I understand that I have the right to terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without reason. I understand that such termination must be in writing. I understand and agree that Arbonne may terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without reason, upon written notice to me.

I just cut and pasted the above.

Now, I read that as agreeing to the fact that the Arbonne International can terminate this agreement to be an independent consultant whenever and for whatever or no reason at all.

I think that's clear enough.

Would they do it - especially when you start really earning a lot (remember, not too many people can do that)? Hopefully not.

Have consultants been terminated? I have heard that some have, but have no knowledge of the reasons and cannot verify that.

Even so, you might ask yourself why that statement would be in there if there was no intention ever to use it?

Do all companies have that statement in their agreements or policies and procedures? No. But most do.

I don't know about you, but I prefer a company that does not have that written anywhere. And I found one, so I know it's possible. I want a company that will allow me to retire and will be around to pay my children and my children's children - even if they do not wish to keep building!

Please do not leave Arbonne International if you like to use their products. But if you have a dream of having network marketing success and Arbonne will not fulfill that, don't wait until you have put a lot of money on the table and still are not successful.

Work From Home | Is it for You?

The answer to this question is both yes and no! How’s that for an answer? Before you start throwing tomatoes at me let me explain!

What do you want?

That’s the first thing you have to figure out. Do you want to make a fortune, or do you just want some extra money to help make ends meet, or are you somewhere in the middle? Do you want to make a fortune, but for now you’d be happy with an extra $500 a month. Then figure out WHY you want that. Remember it’s not about the money! Yes, you read me right; it’s not about the money! It’s what you’ll do with the money. Do you want to pay off some bills, go on a great vacation, buy a boat, build that log cabin you’ve always wanted? That’s what I mean. Money, in and of itself doesn’t mean anything, it’s just paper, but what will you do with it. That’s the first thing you need to do before deciding whether or not you want to work from home. OK, so you know what you want, the next step is to………..

Educate yourself!

This is probably the most critical step in the entire work from home process. Yet it’s the step that most people spend the least amount of time on. They either have a friend, co-worker, or acquaintance that they know who is in some kind of work from home business and, since they trust them, decide to go into business with them. Big mistake! Why? Well, it’s not because your friend is trying to scam you or anything…at least I hope not! But it’s because the person who introduced you to their business probably didn’t do their homework either. They’re just regurgitating what was told to them, who regurgitated what was told to them and so on and so on. You get the picture. Remember the game Telephone when you were a kid? What happened at the end of the line? Actually it probably happened after the second or third person, but by the time you got to the end, the message was so wrong everyone laughed because it sounded so silly! Remember that? That happens A LOT in Network Marketing, so the best thing you can do for you is do your homework!!! I know, I know, I can hear you saying “But Suzanne, I HATE homework.” That’s fine, hey, it’s your life, I’m just trying to help you save years of failure and frustration. Wouldn’t you rather do a little bit of homework now, make a good, solid decision, and then enjoy the rest of your life? I know I would, but hey, like I said, it’s your life!

Network Marketing - Panning for Prospects

NETWORK MARKETING – PANNING FOR PROSPECTS

Prospecting in Network Marketing is like panning for gold. There are some simple rules that must be followed.

You need to have a map to tell you where the most likely place to “pan” and get possible results. You will need instructions. There is a knack to panning. Then there is the right equipment such as a riffled gold pan, tweezers, a spray bottle, sluice box, a bottle of dish washing soap, a snuffle bottle and other little personal things.

The right methods are extremely important. If you do not follow the directions you may be washing the gold out with the dross. As you swish the sand and gravel and gold in the pan by gradually bringing the larger rock to the surface, the gold will settle to the bottom. When you have finished the time consuming process, there on the bottom will be little bits and pieces of the precious yellow prize. Carefully you remove the pieces with tweezers and place them in a container.

Prospecting in Network Marketing is similar. We equip ourselves with the right tools and the right skills. These are our maps and instructions.

Once a lead is obtained we need to slow down and remember not everyone we speak to is a good candidate. Somewhere along the line we have this preconceived idea we need to “get everyone” in our deal. We want to close them and be on our way to the next person. It is not about convincing them, but being able to do a good screening process and ending up with a qualified prospect.

They need a desire, and overwhelming desire. But the desire needs to be followed by action. Network Marketing is work. You need to know if the prospect is seriously committed to spending a certain amount of time each week to learning the skills in setting up their organization. . Mentor them, encourage them, but do not do the work for them. The first seventy-two hours is crucial.

We need to know that they have a huge WHY. They need to have a dream that is an overwhelming obsession. They need solid reasons to be in Network Marketing. When their dream is like dynamite for them and they almost explode with desire to reach their goal, you realize they are serious. One of the screening processes is making sure they are teachable.

As leaders it is our job to be very selective and when we find that dynamic, teachable, obsessed “gold nugget” we will know why we are in MLM. Prospecting in Network Marketing will become an exciting experience just like prospecting for yellow gold!

Network Marketing Success and Arbonne International

I love many of the quality products produced by Arbonne International and have had mostly good results using them. However I have not and cannot have network marketing success doing the business of Arbonne International.

The problem is myself. And the problem is not myself. This was brought home to me vividly this week. I have been skirting around this issue, but I now know that I owe it to all of you to speak plainly.

Let's explore one aspect of this lack of success.

I have been an independent consultant with Arbonne for over 8 years. I have tried many of the marketing techniques, tools, and spent a lot of money. I have a lot of knowledge about the products. I still was not successful.

One of the people in my office of my job (J.O.B = Just Over Broke) told me this week that she had signed up with Arbonne recently and was already a district manager (first level of management). She had made all her money back. I congratulated her.

I mentioned how long I had been with Arbonne and that I could not do the business. She said to me, "Well look what I have as an extended contact base." She is the training coordinator for my department, she works in a couple of jobs outside my company, so she constantly sees a lot of people. The implication was clear - she had a personality and a contact base advantage.

She is a red personality. I am a blue.

Red's like to sell. They represent about 15% of the population. And only about 1/2 of the reds like to be sold. That leaves 85% plus of the population that does not like to be sold to amd does not like to sell. (Also check out the greens and yellows.)

This really connects with information that I had received that somewhere about 1 1/2 percent of the independent consultants do the business, and the rest just buy at the consultant discount for themselves and family and some friends. Arbonne is growing very rapidly.

But even if 5% were successful doing the business, that still leaves 95% who are not. The likely reason for this is that the Arbonne compensation plan is a stairstep breakaway plan - red personalities can work it. Most of the rest of us cannot. I'll discuss this more next week.

There's nothing wrong with the 95% being consultants purchasing with the discount.

I am among many who left a legacy of debt trying to do the business as I was told.
I didn't get the support I thought I was going to receive. I tried several different marketing campaigns. I felt like I failed.

It's Not My Fault

Mentoring for Free came into my life through another frustrated Arbonne consultant. She also still uses some of the products.

What a relief it was to find out that it wasn't my fault. My personality type generally cannot work the Arbonne type of plan.

What Can You Do?

Are you an Arbonne user but cannot do the business and are looking for network marketing success? I'm not asking you to leave the Arbonne products. I'm not asking you to join my new business.

I'm suggesting that you plug into Mentoring for Free to get the skills that will help you find an mlm company that is right for you. There are criteria you need to know. There are skills you need to have to be successful, skills taught no where else.

You do not have to give up your dreams - unless you want to.

What is the cost? Nothing. Just your time. Just your attention. Plug in to a group of people from many companies, from around the world, who respect and help each other.

What's the catch?

There is no catch. I was suspicious at first, but found no basis for any suspicion. I found a number of new great friends and mentors. And useful training.

Home Based Business - Stressed, Anxious, Worried?

Everywhere you turn it seems people are interested in a home based business, one which will help them alleviate the stress, anxiety and worry. But is this the answer? For those who are in network marketing it is the answer, but not one hundred percent a solution. Some take the job job stresses and bring them over to their home based businesses.

STRESS, ANXIETY AND WORRY.

No matter what we do in life there are things to “worry” about. But one thing is very clear, if we face them with clarity of mind that is free from negative anticipation, we have infinitely more wisdom and energy to handle the situation.

When you are worried and filled with anxiety, ask yourself if it is constructive. Is this problem telling me something that needs to be changed? Or are we dealing with it out of fear? Maybe fear of loss? Fear of abandonment or rejection, even failure? It cannot exist unless you give it power and give it life.

Worry is a habit that we’ve picked up through imitation. Worry is a choice! Read that again. Worry is a choice. Worry comes from a belief that you are powerless. But the truth is you are never powerless unless you think you are.

Instead of worrying why not look for a solution. Don’t share your problems with others. You dilute the intensity of the problem by spreading it around and you dilute you power and understanding to remove it. The solution will reveal itself if you stay with it.

Do not try to use your memory or past experiences to solve problems. Why? When you try to use what you already know to solve a problem you are using the same logic and reasoning to solve the problem that created the problem in the first place!

FINDING A SOLUTION

Don’t force a solution. A lot of solutions will be revealed to you. We should practice quiet refusal to accept agitation and confusion as a norm.

We cannot change people. They have a right to be who they are. We can, however, change the way in which we relate to them. When something happens that affects you, don’t play the blame game. When you do this you give up your power to change.

We need to have self acceptance. This only comes from knowing who we are. And when we know who we are, we can create anything we want. What we are open to is open to us. No one can keep our good from us. Others may stop us temporarily, but only we can do it permanently.

Look out for the NIOP’s. These are people who adhere to the Negative Influence of Other People. They are dying to occupy a little corner of your mind.

Learn to look at the positive side of every situation. No matter what is going on in your life there is a positive side. When you get out of bed in the morning, choose to look at everything from a new perspective. It’s a new day. What you have done in the past has nothing to do with what you would like to do in the present. Yesterday’s opportunity is gone, now we have a clean slate. Keep your focus on the ultimate goals that you have. Only you know what you want.

REMEMBER YOU HAVE A CHOICE

So take today and live in the present. The most serious and self destructive behavior pattern that a person can have is not thinking for themselves. Learn to challenge everything. Never doubt your wants. No one cares but you. Just remember nothing or no one can stop you from creating the life that you want. It is the who and what that stops us in ourselves and our own limited beliefs. Make a decision right now that you are open, responsive and receptive to new ideas and beliefs that will support you in getting where you want to go and that you are willing to give up anything that limits you on your journey.

You want a great home based business, and then take out the stress, anxiety and worry. Make solid choices then go for it. Take your business to the top!

MLM Business...Love at First Sight!

Yes, when I started in my first MLM business, it was love at first sight! There was the typical excitement. I LOVED the products, LOVED the thought of all that money, LOVED the excitement and LOVED being able to do it part time at home. I’m a stay at home Mom.

Sign me up!

So, I joined! I paid a lot of money so people could try the products out for themselves. Hey, I was gonna be making big bucks, what’s a couple thousand in start up costs…right?! Wouldn’t recommend it now! Went to all the local meetings, got on all the conference calls, attended all the seminars within 4 hours, and talked and talked and talked to all the people I knew and met (luckily it’s not my nature to be pushy, so they’re still my friends!) and guess where it got me? You probably already know, maybe it’s happening to you,…Nowhere! My first MLM love was becoming tarnished!

Frustrated, upset, confused

These were the first signs my love for my MLM business was diminishing! Hey, I wasn’t a loser! How come all these other people in my company could do it and I couldn’t? Although, looking around at the team I was on nobody else was doing it either, guess that was a clue!

Looking for answers

One day I was searching the internet looking for something, anything, to help me build my business and resurrect my first MLM love! That’s when I found my knight in shining armor! The MLM business ebook, Successs in 10 steps and realized the company I was with wasn’t the right fit for me.

Shock and Awe

Now, at first, I was stunned. I thought ,how could that be? These products are great, other people are making it, maybe, I should just stick with it and work harder. Although, I didn’t know how much harder I could work, I was already doing more that everyone else I knew, plus I was only “part-time”!

Epiphany

Soon after I was driving down the road and had an epiphany. Maybe, if you’re in the same boat as I was, this will help. I realized I was going through a kind of “break-up”, with my first MLM love! At the beginning everything was so wonderful and I was going to the top, unfortunately, I had not educated myself beforehand on what was important to look for in a MLM. So I went blindly along, figuring if it’s good for one it’s good for all.

Learn and grow

I learned that isn’t the case. So just like learning after your first break-up, what you want/need and don’t want/need in a relationship, the same thing applies to your MLM business. Everyone is different and all MLM businesses are not the same for all people. So I encourage you, if you are experiencing loss of love for your MLM all is not lost! MLM Business/MLM Dream...Is She Nuts?

When I was first introduced to a MLM business, I was told to start dreaming again. My first thought was, “Is this woman nuts? Doesn’t she know that I was told to stop dreaming a long time ago? These are the cards I’ve been dealt and I’m dealing with them the best that I can!” Frankly, I thought she had just dropped in from another planet! After all, we’re the adults here, dreaming is for kids, the ones with their whole lives ahead of them! Besides, if I start dreaming again then I’ll really have to deal with how my life isn’t supposed to be this way!

Learning to dream again!

As you can probably tell, I was totally dream averse! I was just trying to get by! Well, with that little suggestion, to dream, a seed was planted! At first, it was really scary, but then, my mind took over. I started to think what it would be like to have the life I’ve always wanted, and what kind of life do I really want? I would let my mind wander at different times and I’d let myself think, what if it really could be different, what if I could have that life? After all, there are other people who live the life of their dreams, why couldn’t I be one of them? So started my journey into my MLM business, I started to dream again!

How about YOU?

I think the older and busier we get, we accept things as they seem to be and just deal with them. I know I did! But it doesn’t have to be that way. The power is in your mind, your thoughts! Your mind is so powerful, and if you pay a little bit of attention to your thoughts and dreams you can really have what you want!

So, here’s my question to you…Can you imagine what your life would be like if you were living the life of you dreams? What do you want? What would you do? Can a MLM business really help reach my dreams? Are you letting life happen to you, or do you want to make your life happen? Do you want to feel like you did when you were a kid again and your whole life was ahead of you? If you answered yes to these questions, then I challenge you! Start dreaming again! Network Marketing Success Secrets - 3 Reasons People Fail

Network marketing success eludes many. People fail for 3 reasons.

1) Distributors do not have the skills. They are often sponsored by a friend or family member, who also does not have the skills, so cannot teach them to others.

The skills include knowing how to speak with people

Also, the different personality types, as described through the colors training, need verying types of training.

For example,
yellow types tend to take a "no" as saying "no" to them, when it is merely a "no" to the opportunity. This personality type needs to be liked by everyone and the training should show them that they are themselves and are separate from the opportunity for a product, service, or a distributorship.

Blues tend to keep talking. They need to be coached to listen more and to use things like autoresponders, as they generally have poor follow-up skills.

The green personality likes details and more details. They are very organized and will work a system well, but must be coached to move into action.

Reds cannot be coached. They always think they are right, so don't even try.

2) They choose the wrong company. Blues like the big picture and jump in, but don't read the policies and procedures. Therefore, they don't know if a company has integrity or not or if they can work the compensation plan for network marketing success.

Yellows also do not read the P & P's - they build relationships and will go with that.

Greens may or may not read the P & P's, and they may not understand them. Also, they tend to like the website as a tool and all the "colors" may like the product, but have no notion if there is a market for it.

This also is related to timing in the company and timing in the industry, one of the 5 pillars to success - can the product or service be easily sold?

3) Distributors don't believe they deserve success. Most people are programmed for "lack". They think they are not good enough, money is evil, only the poor are virtuous, etc. Even if they do not think this on a conscious level, their subconscious is bombarded with messages from the media, from friends and relatives, from movies, and more.

MLM Success - A Total Body Experience

MLM success is desired by many. Success is a total body experience. It involves developing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual fitness.

When your life is in balance than you will feel at ease with yourself and others will be attracted to you.

On your journey to the top many experience MLM fever. This is when all you can think of is your MLM business. It becomes all consuming. A raging fever sweeps through out your body. Your body craves for the success others have experienced. Your visualization of success is so vivid that you can taste it. Oh sweet, sweet success. Other things in your life are placed on hold. This produces unbalance.

The following are guide lines for balanced life:

Physical- Your body is a tool so make sure it can perform at its optimal level by eating right, getting adequate rest, and regular exercise.

Mental- Few have what it takes. Take time to develop mental strength, disciple and self-control.

Developing your why for MLM success will aid you to remain focused. Know what you are working toward.

Leave bad decisions and mistakes in the past.

Be conscience of your thoughts and make them count. Your mind matters.

When faced with a choice, evaluate and make wise decisions. Than take responsibility for your choices.

It is good to have long term goals, short term memory and at the same time delight in the moment. The journey for MLM success might be a few months or a couple of years.

Live the entire experience including sights, smells, sounds, feelings, ..all of it from the beginning to end and enjoy the process. savor and enjoy every moment as you travel to the top with your own MLM success story.

Emotional- Exchange your negative energies of fear, anger, hate, doubt to love, conviction and courage.

Spiritual- Find God's purpose for your life. Be aligned with His will. Fill your cup with His goodness.

Focusing your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual energies with full conviction and commitment will help you to maintain a balanced life. A balanced life is attractive to others and folks will be asking to join you your MLM business. There is a saying 'to make more, become more.'

After two failed adventures in Network Marketing I was ready to quit. But one day I read an ad that said to send in $39.95 and learn about this fabulous company and how to receive true residual income. So I paid the $39.95. Mistake number one.

I got the info. No company name or what was being promoted was ever mentioned. From a few words I was able to detect, it could be a nutritional company. Couple of days after I got this so called information I got a call from a nice lady. She kept saying things like “What do you think?” Then she would tell me how much money I could make and how much fun I would have. “Do you think you could work for this company?” I had asked her two or three times what the name of the company was and what did it sell. She would change the subject, like it was some great secret. Finally, in exasperation I told her if she did not tell me the name of the company and what they sold I was going to hang up. Only then did she tell me very reluctantly that it was Herbalife. I never did get why the $39.95 material was required before you talked to someone. Even after I got off the phone with this lady, I had a bad feeling that something was not right. The $39.95 really got me. What did this material have to do with network marketing? It was very generic.

SECOND BAD FEELING

A couple days later Sally’s (not her real name) got her Red guru Space Star Commander Sponsor on the phone with me. For about three minutes or so this guy goes on and on about this great company and what an opportunity I was being given. Then he told me it would cost me $4000 to get in on the fast lane. It would also cost about $1500 for product and about $1500 for top of the line advertising. I sat at my kitchen table with my mouth hanging open and shaking my head NO! He had the gall to ask me which credit card I would like to use. I thought, for $7000, not mine! I told him that particular plan left me out. He went to the next level and I said I couldn’t do that one either. Finally we got to the bottom entry level. I told him it would have to be very bottom, lower then the lowest entry level. There was a pause and in a very exasperated voice told my sponsor to sign me up and give me the no cost and the cheapest advertising sites. He hung up!

I SAW A RED FLAG…

Next red flag was everyone was reluctant to tell me what the ingredients in the products. What were the fillers and so on. I don’t think anyone really knew. I began to see this was a recruit, recruit, recruit company. That’s where the money was.

I asked for guidance in advertising. I knew nothing but I was willing to learn. I asked for it again and again. Finally, one day my sponsor called and told me in no uncertain terms she was not a baby sitter, and that they would not help me learn about advertising, but I could join her advertising wheel for $550 a month. Then she proceeded to tell me this was not going to be a friendship between us, this was strictly business. No skills were ever given to me. No nothing about advertising or writing blogs, ezines or Web pages. Nothing! If I couldn’t learn it on my own, oh well!

MORE FLAGS

I learned the compensation plan is a STAIRSTEP BREAKAWAY. You can only build so deep on each leg then it is breaks away from you. This is a ruthless compensation plan. You constantly are working to build a good pay check.

Not only do you have the stair step breakaway compensation plan, but again it is a huge front loading company. If you think you want to deal with those two issues then go ahead. But since I have been out of this company and in another MLM business that thinks of its distributors as their lifeline, you would be surprise at how many people I get as leads who are unhappy with Herbalife and are not making it. Does it really take a Philadelphia lawyer to figure out, how do you compensate for the front loading? How long to recoup your expense? Did you know the average success in MLM is only two and half recruits? With this in mind, how can you ever make enough profit to get back your huge upfront monies?

Do I detest Herbalife? No! Not one bit. But there are other companies out there who have much better compensation plans. And by the way, if a company will not post its entire compensation plan on line, so that anyone can read it before you join….RUN, RUN, RUN! Oh yes, and the $39.95, to anyone who pays even one cent without knowing what you are paying for deserves to be ripped off! It happened to me!

THE RIGHT TO KNOW

The best thing the company ever did for me was give me the FREE ADVERTISING!!
Yep! One day a sweet lady from Canada called me and wanted to know how I was doing in network marketing company. Of course I told her I was doing nothing. We talked and chatted and she offered me a free ebook. Wow! This was so different; she offered me something for free. Hey, free sounded might good and I began to learn a better way to build a business. Why keep recruiting only to have them quit after three weeks or so? Why not build it once with a solid foundation?

Through the Mentoring program she offered for free, I am becoming a leader with integrity and confidence because I am being taught a better way to do network marketing. I am learning the right way to get LEADS. I am learning how to form relationships with these people and teach them to duplicate what I have learned. In my company people who are looking for my business come to me. I have been taught the skills of network marketing and am learning to build with little up-front money. Am a making my first million? No, but I am closer to it now then I was with Herbalife.

I want my network marketing adventure to be fun. I don’t want any gotcha’s in my P&P’s. I want a comp plan that works for me. I want to build my dream in business that will be there for my children’s children and I want to help others build theirs right along side of me. Want to join me at the top?

How to spot a good MLM training program

Network Marketing is a relationship business, a people business. The first thing to look for in a good program is one that teaches people skills.
There are four basic personalities in the world. Each one of these personalities accepts communication differently. The quicker you can communicate with the way they receive information, the quicker you will be able to connect with them and build the ‘know, like and trust relationship.’

Along with understand their personality it is vital important to stop the chat inside your head and develop real listening skills. Look for a program that includes personal growth.

So now that you have gotten the relationship part down, search for a MLM training program that includes lead generation. In network marketing you will always want to keep your funnel full and build your own spider web. Therefore, search for a system that will teach how to generate your own leads. These leads are going to more responsive to what you have to offer. This way you will not have to call 100 leads a day to get one measly response.

Marketing skills is another important training aspect in MLM. A good MLM training program will teach you about attractive headlines that get results. In today’s world, it is paramount to understand the internet. By using this technology you can reach thousands and thousands of folks.

There is not one magical thing that will lead to you to success in MLM. It is a combination of skills, belief, persistence and hard work. For an example, when you bake a cake….it is not the flour or the eggs or the sugar that makes it taste so good. Rather it is combination of ingredients and hard work.

We’ve all heard that one of the secrets to network marketing success is being motivated. We have to be motivated to take the steps to sharing our products or services. We have to be motivated to share our respective business opportunities.

In the previous article on this site Monica discussed the causes of lack of motivation as they relate to lack of skills.

Let’s take a look at motivation from another aspect, from an aspect of making a change.

As a professional health coach I can tell you that there are processes and strategies for change, for getting rid of negative health behaviors and substituting good behaviors. The same translates to overcoming bad habits that inhibit your network marketing success in favor of those that move your life and your business forward.

The basic premise we go by is that everyone is creative, perfect, whole, but may need to make some life/behavior/business changes

There are assessments you can do, but one easy thing you can do is a pros and cons balance scale. Generally, there are for basic categories to an evaluation to make a decision to change:

• Consequences of change to self
• Consequences of change to others
• Reactions of self as a result of change
• Reactions of others as a result of change

For example, you can set this up as follows:

This is just an example. Use your creativity to come up with your own balance sheet.

An interesting point is that it takes more in the positive (pro) side to motivate you to make a change than it does in the negative (con) side to keep you where you are. So keep those affirmations coming that you’ve learned about earlier.

It’s still important to find the right network marketing company, a 5 Pillars company, but you can do this, if you really want to, if your motivated to do so.

Motivation is highly overrated as the ALL important ingredient for MLM success. Yet an unmotivated person will not make out of first base.

Just as motivation is part of the equation so are skills training.

Let me explain.

Maybe you were motivated at one time but in time your enthusiasm faded.

One reason maybe because you are not getting the results you desire for MLM success.

Do you think you would be motivated when you sponsor 5 new people every week?

Do you think you would be motivated when you reach into your mailbox and find a paycheck from your MLM Company?

Why is growth not happening within your MLM organization? Where is the MLM success you once dream of?

Maybe the problem “lack of motivation" is actually an issue of developing skills.

Let me illustrate with a scenario:

You are sitting calmly in your sit as the 747 gracefully flies through the air. The pilot unexpectedly passes out and everyone on board voted you, yes you to handle the situation.

You are in charge of flying the plane!

This is a challenge because you never flow a plane before.

You can set goals.

You can have a biggest WHY in the world.

You can tell yourself I will land the plane safely.

Your motivation is high because you don't want to die.

And you even have an attitude of gratitude!

But what is going to happen when touch down time comes?

You are going to crash unless you learn the skills of flying.

In Network Marketing, you will need skills such as;

*Communication skills- how to talk with people effectively. It's about being polite and allowing others to make-up their mind.

*Listening skills- know when the appropriate time to bring up your opportunity and when to keep silent.

*Marketing Skills-how to market your product, how to generate targeted leads.
And than when you get leads, skills on what to say to break the ice.

I stayed with a great company for eight years before I realized that nothing I did would give me network marketing success in that company. I felt soooo guilty.

Instead of earning the money I expected, desired, and knew I deserved, I poured money into training, advertising, marketing tools, personal growth, etc. If only I could change myself, improve myself, increase my skills… I would be successful. Right!

Well, I did those things – and still wasn’t successful. I had a negative return. Don’t get me wrong – it is a great company with great products that I still like to use. But I cannot do the business! What is the matter with ME?

Well, through the Mentoring for Free program I found that there was NOTHING wrong with me. The company was wrong for me. It was and is wrong for me from the standpoint of business-building. After all, I am complete, perfect and whole just the way I am – Where is Mr. Rogers when you need him!

Needing to know what's what -

What were some of the things I found? I often did not sell the products at the retail price – offered lots of discounts to get people to buy and then hope they got hooked and either signed up as a wholesale buyer so that they’d order for themselves and I’d get some small benefit – 4%. If someone did want to buy retail I was stuck with the ordering and generally the delivery. I offered free shipping – probably part of that "feeling I had to offer a discount" mentality. Why did I give discounts to family and others? Probably because I thought on some level that the prices were too high. That no one would buy unless I offered a discount. And people pick up on that. And that’s no way to work a business that works.

The next thing I found was that it was so difficult for me to qualify for the next level, I tended to try to "buy" it. I am definitely not alone. I listened to others who get a nice bonus or override check how much they spent to generate that money. So how much is the real profit?

Breakage

The plan is a stair-step breakaway plan. Without going into confusing detail, suffice it to say I subsequently understood where the money went. I’m referring to the money I didn’t earn by reaching the levels I sought. It went to the people above me – okay. But mostly it went to build buildings, move to ever-increasing warehouses, hire more order-taking customer service reps….
Think about it – when you have to hire more personnel, what costs are involved? How about space requirements – either owned or rented. How about grounds and building maintenance, water, power, supplies, insurance costs, technical set-up costs – what would they add up to? Oh, and let’s not forget in addition to salaries you have benefits and retirement plans to pay for.
So the bigger a company gets, a company that does business with a lot of hired personnel, the more expenses that company has. What – a million? Two million a month? More? Where does that money come from?

It comes from the compensation plan – from you and from me.

The company I’m referring to did two "take-aways" this year. They ended the free product with the auto-ship – this was a great selling point for autoship. And they "raised the bar" on one of the monthly campaigns. In other words, you have to purchase more to get the bonus. They can call it anything they want – it’s still a take-away from compensation. How does that promote network marketing success?

Is there hope?

I found a company that does not do that. I now know that I can have network marketing success. This company only adds to the compensation plan and will never take away. Oh, and they have outstanding products, too.

The value of training

But to understand what I had found, I had to go through the skills training at Mentoring for Free. I no longer feel I am knocking my head against the wall. I have forgiven myself because there was nothing wrong with me.

Top MLM Network Marketing Company: What is the best MLM Network Marketing Company for you? The secret is out!

Everybody tells you that they are the best. They may even get you all jacked up with hype and lies. Have you heard them say 'you can make one million dollar in one week?'

You won’t hear this from me today. To have MLM Network Marketing success, you have to evaluate the opportunity, the sponsor and the team that you want to join.

I believe you should get the appropriate training before you even consider MLM Network Marketing as a business. Get an education before investing your hard earned money in a self proclaimed "best opportunity." It will save you years of frustration and failure.

You do not want to waste your hard earned money and pull your hair out afterwards.

My purpose is to teach you how to find the best company and sponsor for you. It is all about you.

A great company with a bad team or a bad sponsor = failure and frustration.

I am sure you have read the basics on how to evaluate network marketing companies:

1-Company duration in business
2-Products quality and exclusiveness

I will skip this common knowledge; you can find it anywhere online.

Briefly, I will share with you secret tips on how to evaluate a MLM Network Marketing company:

1-Company integrity

If you are looking for a top MLM Network Marketing company, don't you want to know who is in charge?

Why is this critical?

Let me tell you what happens every day in the Network Marketing industry.

Major distributors are terminated from their companies because they retired!

The company "leaders" do not like the idea that you continue to make money when you stop working.

If you have not heard these horror stories, I can tell you many.

Hint: typically those “leaders” and “founders” will remind you of their integrity!

I will teach you how to read their minds.

Obviously, you can do a Google search and find a third party review.

I will give you a more precise way to disclose their intentions.

It's easy, read the policies and procedures! They will tell you!

The “leaders” and “founders” may have the intention to get rid of you and steal your check. In order for them to make it legal, they add poisons to their policies and procedures and then they make you sign it!

Unfortunately, many network marketers are honest nice guys; they join because they heard a presentation full of hype or because the company has a cool website!

How do they intoxicate their policies and procedures?

Rod Cook, the MLM watch dog guy, tells you never to sign any policies and procedures with more than 30 pages long. Is that simple or what? If you see 40 pages then you don’t need to read them. I promise you they have tons of poisons for you. I challenge you to go and check each self proclaimed "top network marketing company" policies and procedures. Some of those companies won't even give them to you until after you joined! Go figure.

They may disclose their intentions very obviously or in a subtle way. They will tell you that they have the right to cancel the compensation plan anytime and transform the company to direct sales company. A.k.a. your check and your distributor’s checks will disappear over night. Your dreams and your team’s dreams are flushed down the toilet. Most people are naive; they sign these policies and procedures without reading them. Do you believe that?

Those "leaders" may add tiny toxic words, such as continuous. The distributor has to continuously keep in touch with his team, be involved with continuous training and continuous sponsoring…The key word is continuous. In other words, they can terminate you as soon as you stop working, which means they won’t allow you to have a residual income. Hey, you signed it, didn't you?

Ask Jim Rohm about this tiny word. It cost him a quarter million of dollars! He will tell you not to sign blindly, take your team, read the contract and analyze it.

Actually, they may use an even better trick! They may replace the word continuous with the word ongoing...As far as I understand that means continuous.

What is your purpose of joining a top network marketing company?

Isn’t a proclaimed top network marketing company supposed to be a residual income business opportunity?

There are many other scenarios with different toxins. Do not sign anything you do not understand, get suspicious and ask for expert opinion.

2-Company management experience:

What do I mean?

If the leaders in a Network Marketing company have never been a distributor and never build a down line, how do you expect them to teach you!

Would you go to a marriage counselor who has never been married?

3-Your sponsor personality color:

Let me ask you a question:

Why would you want to join a top network marketing company if you have a bad sponsor?

Very briefly, if your sponsor is “red”, manipulator, ruthless, careless, he may get you terminated on purpose because of greed and ego!

Understanding personality types is very crucial in MLM Network Marketing; you should know your personality type and your prospect. You will learn all about personalities completely free of charge. It is actually fun to learn.

4-Your team marketing knowledge and experience

That’s another biggie.

If your sponsor or your team doesn’t understand the basics of direct response marketing and internet marketing. If they do not know how to market, how do you expect them to teach you! You will be left wading in the mud by yourself. Not pretty.

I recommend checking out the quality of the training available from the company. Find out the tools they use.

Beware of proclaimed top MLM Network Marketing Company!

5-Compensation plans and your personality

This takes time to explain, I will explain it briefly. Most importantly, if the company compensation plan is based on “front loading” and “stair-step-breakaway” compensation plan, the only people who succeed are the hard selling, aggressive and ruthless people. This was the reason of leaving my prior company.

It doesn't matter if the company is considered a "Top MLM Network Marketing Company". There are many good network marketing companies but it may not be for you.

There are other tricks; I would rather refer you to the mentoring for free. They have one Saturday each month where we discuss this particular topic for one whole hour.

6-Marketing plan:

If this company marketing plan is based mostly on recruiting friends and family, or offline marketing, your are going to have hard time my Friend!

Your company or your team should teach you Internet Marketing. Otherwise, you will be going in circles.

I am sorry if I made it look difficult, but what would you rather do, investigate or join a self proclaimed top MLM Network Marketing company and waste your money?

For network marketing success training can make or break a distributor.

An inexperienced distributor can talk to 20 prospects and no one will join. an experienced distributor can talk to the same 20 prospects and some will join. What's the difference?

The inexperienced distributor asks the wrong questions - such as, "do you like your job?" That is a yes-or-no question. It usually doesn't leave much follow-up opportunity. A better question is, "What do you do for a living?" This open-ended question question requires more of an expansive reply.

Five of these prospects say they hate their job; they want time for their hobbies, friends, and family. They want more money and an exciting career and they don't know how to find something to fill this need in them. They just open up.

Why did they say this? Because the better-trained distributor uses different questions and statements. It's just that simple.

And the trained distributor can get a feel for the personality type of the prospects (see the colors trainings) and knows how to talk with them.

If your distributor continues doing the wrong things, he quits. Distributors aren't lazy, they just don't know what to do. Or they just do the wrong things.

Your downline are looking to you for answers, for the words to say and how to say them. They don't want to re-invent the wheel or face rejection. Where's the network marketing success there?

MLM Secrets - Integrity

In network marketing there is one attribute above all others that will lend its self to making your organization grow, and that is integrity.

~You can’t touch it, you can’t see it, it does not have a price on it, but without integrity in our lives, in our work and in our hearts we have missed the mark personally as well as within our organization~.

So what does integrity mean? Webster says it is the quality or state of being complete; unbroken condition; wholeness; entirety. It is being unimpaired; perfect condition; soundness; being of sound moral principle, upright, honest and sincere.
How can you "with integrity" within the MLM industry, honestly and sincerely promise a prospective person that they will be rich within a month? You may tell them they will make $5000 per month when you have not done so yourself. But because you belong to a front-loading company you need the money, so you sell your prospect a dream that in reality will never happen. It cannot be duplicated and you know it.

The person "buys" into your story, they pay the money and one month later they are gone. Everyone wants to be able to have their dreams come true, but with this sales technique you have not shown integrity. The person goes away from your company broken in spirit, resentful and has nothing to say but bad things about your company.

Then we send people to web sites. What do they see, more hype. Promises of making thousands of dollars a month. Maybe this company has a small joining fee. So you think its O.K and buy into it. Two weeks later your sponsor calls you and wants to know how many people you have signed up under you. None. They get pushed out of shape. When you ask for help, they can’t help you. They have no skills either.

Wouldn’t it feel great to be greeted on the phone by a sponsor who knows that marketing is hard work? You need to learn skills. These skills should actually be learned before you step out and commit to a company. You should know what kind of company you want to join like a 5 Pillar company. You want a sponsor who is willing to reach down and help you know about the organization and what is required of you.

If you have the skills to begin with you will not have to stop and learn before you start to work. You can join a company with a proven compensation plan, honest policy’s and procedures and hit the ground running. A company of integrity whose leaders know what it is like to be a "beginner" are willing to give you all the breaks they can.

Wouldn’t you rather be able to tell you new person about making $200 per month honestly then telling a hyped up lie about making $5000? To be a success in your organization you want to lead by example.

By being honest and sincere and forming relationships with your new recruit you have established the priceless commodity of integrity. This will give you a team who is motivated and dedicated to you and to the company. These are the people that will make your organization grow on a solid foundation. Oh yes, it is slower, but why does a person want to build only to have to rebuild again and again? Why not build it once, build it big so that it will last your children’s children?

By being a leader with integrity you will have inspired you team and will empower them to build their team to keep the success going. If you have integrity you will remember that you downline is the bloodline of your organization. It is the power of your company.
Bottom line: Why waste you time with all the hype? Develop integrity and honesty and willing to be a mentor to your people and you will achieve success. Most of all it will make your network marketing journey a success and will reward you richly in the future.

Taxes in the New Millennium

April is Around the Corner
Was it your plan that taxes would go down on your network marketing business in the new millennium? Was it your thought that President Bush’s $1 trillion proposed tax cut would help you out in April, 2001? Well, some things don’t change from century to century, and one of those is taxes on the network marketer.

Lessons From the Tax People
One thing is clear ... If you plan to take deductions for your home-based business, the IRS expects that the business will be a real one.
One thing is clear from recent litigation brought by the IRS and the state of Kansas against a company called The Tax People, in Topeka, Kansas. If you plan to take deductions for your home-based business, the IRS expects that the business will be a real one. In The Tax People case, the IRS not only filed a lawsuit, but it also seized assets of The Tax People claiming that The Tax People falsely claimed that its new participants were automatically entitled to $5,000 in new tax deductions and unable to reduce their current tax withholding, giving them an immediate pay raise of $500 per month. The Tax People case also demonstrated that the IRS will chase after and audit networkers who it believes are taking suspicious tax deductions.

Remember, to be able to take advantage of tax deductions for your network marketing business, it has to be a real business. The IRS says that you can’t deduct business expenses unless you engage in the business on a “for profit” basis — not just as a “hobby business.”

How do you tell the difference? The IRS will look at one of two tests. The first objective test is whether you have made a profit in three out of five years. The second subjective test is whether or not you are prepared to demonstrate that you engage in your business in order to make a profit. Here, the IRS is looking at whether or not you carry on the business in a businesslike manner; the time and effort you put into the activity; whether you depend on income from it; your expertise in the business; how much profit the activity makes in the years it does profit; and other pertinent considerations.

A Social Business
Network marketing is a social business. You have to eat and you may as well have some fun and do it while you are recruiting or selling. This is one of those expenses the IRS keeps whittling away at, however. Your deductions are now limited to 50 percent of your meal and entertainment costs.

Beyond that, you must have records to substantiate your meal and entertainment deduction claims. In addition to the usual receipts you should keep for expense deductions, you will need to be able to document the substance of the business discussion, the business relationship, and who you had a meal with, or went with to be entertained. The business discussion has to be during the activity or immediately preceding or following it.

Your Home – The Business
You can deduct the cost associated with your home office, but be prepared to show how you use it. Assuming you qualify, you can deduct a proportion of expenses related to your entire home, such as mortgage payments, insurance, utility bills and home repair. The space must be used regularly and exclusively for business. Second, you must use it for administrative or management activities of the business and you cannot have another fixed location for your business where you conduct substantial administrative or management activities.

Everyday Expenses
You can deduct ordinary business expenses such as accounting fees, advertising fees, license fees, and so on. The tax advantage here is that many of your expenses may cross over between your home lifestyle and your business lifestyle, including telephone, cleaning supplies, office supplies, answering machines, audio and video equipment, fax machines, office furniture, and office decorations that improve both your home office and your house.

Like to Travel?
Do you like to travel? Does your spouse like to travel? Do both you and your spouse promote your network marketing business? The business travel deduction is a real advantage for networkers.

Of course, you are going to have to make a clear allocation between the business-related purpose of the travel and the vacation portion. Obviously, there is a gray line, and it will be in your interest to substantiate as much of the travel as relating to your network marketing business. Inside the U.S., all travel expenses are deductible when the trip is “primarily” for business. When traveling abroad, you must divide the travel expenses between business and vacation time.

Gifts – to Business Friends
Do you have friends and family who are also customers and business associates in network marketing? The probability on this point is high. A network marketer can convert gift-making, which might normally take place, into business gift-making, which is eligible for a tax deduction. Under IRS rules, you may deduct up to $25 for the cost of business gifts given directly or indirectly to these people. That should make you popular!

Forms, Forms, Forms
Almost every network marketing distributor agreement recognizes your independent contractor status, and so does the IRS. Because the IRS considers you to be self-employed, you are going to have to pay both income tax and self-employment tax.

If you have income greater than $500 a year, you will be making estimated quarterly tax payments as a self-employed individual. You will receive a Form 1099 from the network marketing company if you receive more than $600 in income or buy more than $5,000 of product or inventory. Your Form 1099 will be attached to your Schedule C, which in turn will be attached to your tax return. Your Schedule C will summarize your income and expenses from your network marketing business.

All About Hardware
When it comes to these issues, you’re definitely going to need to talk to your tax advisor. You have some choices to make about how to deduct the acquisition costs of computer equipment and automobiles that are used for your network marketing business.

The IRS provides some very liberal limits on the amount that you can actually expense as a business deduction in any one year. (Of course, you are limited in expenses to the income from your business.) The other option is taking a depreciation write-off over a number of years for business equipment. Only your tax advisor knows for sure which is most advantageous.

The costs of running your automobile for your network marketing business are deductible. You have a choice of using the IRS’s standard cents-per-mile, or itemizing the automobile expenses, such as gasoline, repairs, maintenance, insurance, and depreciation. Obviously, you need to calculate what percentage of your overall car use is devoted to your network marketing business, and adjust the expenses to that percentage.

Record Keeping — It’s a Must
If you talk to our friends at the IRS, they will tell you time and time again that the most important aspect of claiming your expenses and deductions is keeping adequate records. The IRS will suggest that you keep a separate bank account, make a record of all business transactions, and retain all your records. Record keeping and substantiation are particularly important for deductions for travel expenses, entertainment expenses, and gift expenses. And the IRS will always tell you that a receipt is ordinarily the best evidence to prove the amount of expense.

Be Creative, But be Realistic
If your network marketing business is making money, there is no reason why you should not be able to write off legitimate business deductions. Fair and honest deductions will save you a lot of money, but remember pie-in-the-sky or fantasy deductions may trigger audits and cost you money.

Network Marketing Success - Ground Yourself For Take-off

In an earlier message we discussed the different levels of listening (see Network Marketing Success - Listen, Do You Hear Me?) for network marketing success. Listening to your prospect is the most powerful thing you can do. After all, how often are we really listened to? And when we are, how does that make us feel? Cared about? That we matter? We want our prospects to feel the same. Then we can discover their pain and their dream. With the power of their dream they can move forward.

But what happens if you, I, the listener is not grounded? What is grounded? That is a situation where we are secure in our listening, a place where our own thoughts, memories, feelings do not get in the way. There are techniques that help us be and stay grounded so that the conversation is all about the prospect, not about ourselves.

When we cannot to that, perhaps that would not be a good time to try to listen. People usually feel when you are not present, even on the phone. If, by chance, something that the prospect says really resonates with you to the tune of strong memories, feelings come flooding back to you, and you are back on level 1 listening (about yourself), try to check, stop that and regain your focus.

It is appropriate to apologize to the prospect and say either that your mind went to the Bahamas for a moment, or even that what they said evoked a strong memory in you. It is usually counterproductive to launch into that memory. After all, the conversation is about them, not about you. This is a skill that can be cultivated and mastered with practice.

I would like to talk about network marketing mistakes today.

I received a question recently: How to stop losing money in network marketing?

I will talk about the wrong ways of marketing that waste money then I will discuss afterwards how to make your marketing works so it makes you money.

Most people join network marketing companies to make money and to get rich.

The facts are: Many people lose money!

How do they lose money?

They may have listened to their upline!

targeted mailing list

Lesson #1: Do not use direct mail initially in your campaign.

They may have not listened to their uplines

If your upline tells you to start placing advertisement in the newspaper, then you have to study his personality and his intentions (He is just gambling with your money)

Lesson #2: Never use expensive advertisement in the newspapers.

Some companies obligate their distributors to keep buying products more than the needed personal consumption to stay active in the company which leads to accumulating lots of unused inventory

Lesson#3: Quit this company. Luckily, most companies do not follow this model anymore.

The biggest mistake is repeating the same marketing technique and expect different results.

I will discuss in the future the right way of doing network marketing to make money.

If you do not come to the marketing world with some basic skills your MLM journey will not be a success. Today it is amazing how many potential recruit know nothing about the networking industry. The most uneducated idea is you join a company and sell a product or service and try to recruit others into the industry and you get paid. Wrong! There are some things you need to know before you sign on the dotted line or pick up the phone and talk to someone about the business. Ninety percent of people who begin marketing do not realize it is a business is work.

Basis tools and skills needed for a success in MLM marketing:

· Computer with email, and one that has the capacity to hold lots of data and with internet access. Ask questions about the best ISP.
· An organized filing system. You need printed materials for reference.
· Be able to navigate the internet.
· Before coming to a company know how to write and article and learn the skill of advertising through ezines, pay-per-clicks, magazine articles, newspaper ads,
press releases, clicking for points and so on.
· You must be able to talk on the phone with possible recruits. Is the phone a
dead weight for you?
· Do you have discipline? Are you dedicated to spend a certain amount of time in business?
· A good printer is mandatory.
· Fax machine and answering machine or voice mail. Phone with the ability to do three way calling.
· Make a plan. Do not just grab the first company that comes along with the best sales pitch. You must think what you want to do, what kind of business you want.
· Be able to construct a web page, splash pages, know about key words and how to access them when writing an article, web or splash page.
· Know the difference between links, hyperlinks, URL’s and how to change these different internet junctions efficiently.
· Know how to set up a PDF file.

When you come to a business opportunity you want to be prepared. You want to be able to come to the business ready to work, ready to build relationships and start your organization without having to stop and learn the basis skills of MLM marketing. Start with knowledge and the basic skills and your business will be off and running and you will be on your way to the top!

As an entrepreneur in MLM you must understand a MLM business model. It is essential to know how to evaluate the business opportunity and its product or service.

Be leery of the following:

Urgency, sign up now: A business model that creates urgency will disperse critical thinking. Think about that. There is so much hype, before you have a chance to evaluate the opportunity you have signed on the dotted line.

Pre launch: Many network marketers join pre launch or new start up companies to get in early. They believe first ones in equal bigger paychecks. Statistically, about 90% of network marketing companies end up filing bankruptcy in the first few years. Ouch, there goes your paycheck.

Forced Matrix: Some companies elude they will build your down line for you.

In love with the product: “I love this product and therefore everyone should love my product.” Some folks are married to their MLM companies. They are emotional involved and can not see past the obvious alarms of bad company management.

Selling a product or service that has no emotional attachment: Will your prospect buy from you next month or will you need to close them every time?

Emotional attachment is a big one.

I my opinion, people will continue to consume products that have to do with health, wealth and love or beauty.

For instance, during a financial crisis what products would you cut from your budget? A health product that helps maintains sugar level or a music CD for entertainment?

9/11 is a classic example. Money was tight for many folks. The travel industry suffered. Folks will stop traveling before they stop using a product that makes them look better or feel like a million bucks.

That’s what you call an emotional attachment.

Men will want health supplements to increase their stamina because they want to remain healthly. Women will want skin care products that makes wrinkles disappear because they want men to love them. We all want to look good and feel great.

So what is your intention of building your MLM business?

Is it to build it right and build it once so it can pay you and your children’s children for years to come?

My advice is to investigate the leaders in MLM Company. Read the Policies and Procedures. Ask yourself; is this the right timing in the company and the right time for the product? Is the product valued priced? Is your product consumable? Does your product have an emotional attachment? Does your up line have a system where they teach folks skills?...I mean real skills that include communication skills, internet skills and marketing skills. Is the compensation plan profitable and suited for your personality?

Do your research before jumping in MLM. It will save you years of failure and frustration. Build your MLM business on a solid foundation.

Do you think you have to be perfect to have network marketing success? Do you think you have to learn first, be able to perform as if you were a professional on Broadway in order to network, prospect, sell product? Well, they don't give out Tony Awards for networking.

Networkers who feel they have to study and know everything before they begin - never begin. Those who feel that they have to be perfect are either in love with learning for learning's sake or afraid to get out and do the business. It is also likely that they do not have a supportive upline and do not work as a team.

To perform poorly at first is much better than not to perform at all. Practice makes perfect, or at least better. Action is the key. The more you take action, the better your action will be. No action at all guarantees failure.

Of course, you still have to learn skills. You can start out with simplicity and can become more sophistocated. And, of course, you want to be duplicatable. But you have to start.

MLM training for new distributors

It is very important in your mlm training for new distributors to teach them the basics of wants and needs.

What people wants are different from what people need.

If you forget this step and you told your distributor to chase their friends and family, you are exposing your team members to rejection and failure before they even start.

Your distributor will say to himself: ' I am getting rich retailing products to my friend and family'.

He goes enthusiastic and he asks his aunt who has diabetes, and pains all over her body: I got great nutritional products that may help your diabetes and pains, would you want to try my products?

The poor distributor gets a big fat No; and she tells him: I am under the care of my doctor.
She may say: I am under the care of my doctor, he takes good care of me: That means no, get off my back. He needs to back off immediately.

The new mlm distributor is going to lose his mind, how come his dear aunt rejected him like this.

Now, his aunt needs the supplements but she doesn't want them.

Next day, our new mlm distributor goes full of energy and he hears his co-workers complaining of their low salary, not being appreciated, etc. Then he asks them: ' would you like to join my company and make money?' And his co-workers answer: Go away; this is a pyramid scheme, this is a scam, someone in china lost his money in these deals.

Your poor mlm distributor rejected, humiliated goes and burry himself under the couch.

You have already lost a new fresh distributor. He quit. He can not sustain the pain of prospecting!

How to prevent mlm prospecting pains and rejection?

This is one of those biggies of Big Al mlm secrets:

You teach him Wants and Needs.

We need to wake up and exercise in the morning but do we want to? Nooo
We need to eat healthy but do we want to? Nooo
We need to go to the dentist but do we want to? Nooo

So, his aunt need the products but she doesn’t want them. May be if she is sick, people feel pity for her and they visit and now she has company! His aunt is normal.

His co-workers need the mlm opportunity but they do not want it and it is normal as well.

How can your mlm distributor prospect his friends and family without being rejected and without joining the no friends left club?

Prospecting through:

If this mlm distributor went to his aunt and asked her: Do you know anyone who has diabetes or aches and pains, my company has great products that may help those people?

Here his aunt will obviously forget about herself, and either she knows someone and she refers him to or she simply says: no, I don't know anyone who has diabetes

Result: rejection free - and this may allow him to get referrals and he still gets the chance to eat turkey on thanks giving.

If he did go to his friends and asked them: Who do you know who has entrepreneurial spirit, passionate with dreams, who may has been in mlm but quit and may be looking to get back?

The answer would have been: No - but not to him, they just do not know anyone who need to make extra income. Or they do know someone then now your distributor has a hot fresh referral from a friend.

Do you see how that works?

The most important you do not want your fresh distributor to get pain!

Your distributor will stick with you to teach him all the details of marketing as long as he is not in pain.

You work hard to find a person with dream and hopes; he is very valuable to lose.

In MLM it is no secret most people join a company because they think they are going to get rich quick. There are however, some factors that play into a mind set that will possibly destroy a person unless they are prepared. Each of us has been given the ability to be wealthy. Our basic nature is to grow, to move forward, to increase and create more. There is a phrase that goes “The rich get richer, while the poor get poorer.” Why?

How we think controls what we become. Think on that statement. Where do you place your energy? Are you always thinking about what you don’t have versus what you already have? Did you know your sub-conscious mind can only react to the information that you program it with? If you program your mind constantly with how poor you are and you will never have enough money to get by, it will happen. What ever you program into your sub-conscious mind is where your energy flows. People who want to expand and choose to make their lives better financially will do so, because they know they can.

Want to get rid of the poverty mind set? Start by cleaning from your mind all negativity, all pre-conceived ideas which do not serve you, then fill the empty void with everything positive.

How do we fill our minds with positive thoughts?

• We need to clean out the old ideas, beliefs and concepts that are holding us
from experiencing wealth.
• Second, we need affirmation. We need to tell ourselves “I deserve wealth.” I
want to know how to get rich. I want my income to be more then my outflow. I want to be rich in consciousness as well as money. We need to choose to know how to be rich. We need to choose to accept the money which is flowing into our lives right now.
• Third, create in our imagination a picture of the way we want our lives to be.

What we need to remember is that the law of the mind is totally trustworthy and will never let us down. This MLM secret is one many people never notice or do not perceive. They are to busy thinking about what they can get.

We are like children we want to “get”. Only those who know they already have will receive more. Getting comes from fear. It is important for us to change the “get” complex to the “I have” and the “I am “consciousness. Develop the attitude of gratitude. This is one of the most powerful secrets of adding riches to our lives. Be thankful for what you have now, and watch it grow.

When you are cleaning up the sub-conscious mind and filling the void with things that work for you, energy will begin to form. You will discover the more you give, the more you will receive. So, start giving. Give away the very thing you want to gain and watch it come back to you again and again..

You must expand, if you don’t do the choosing for expansion, life will choose for you and it may not be the choice you want. People who know they are the master of their lives including their finances do not live in fear. They create their lives; they grow and keep moving forward.

There is a fact you might be interested in, take all the money away from a person who is a millionaire – one who has the consciousness of a millionaire – and within a short time he or she will be a millionaire again. Riches start with the mind, not you pocketbook, band account or investments. They have money because they are already rich in consciousness.

How much money do you want? Remember, your subconscious only understands specific commands. You deserve to be rich. Program you mind with an amount far exceeding what you actually want. Then make a nice little sign with big enough letter that you will notice it. Hang it on the refrigerator, or the wall of your office and look at it everyday. Say to yourself, “I deserve to be wealthy.” Say it with conviction; believe it.
Picture it in your mind, plant the seed firmly in your sub-conscious mind.

Poverty is a sickness, the cure is abundance. Keep this MLM secret with you always. Replace the negative with positive and you will be taking your organization to the top!

Either you are programming your mind or someone else is. If you are not in charge of programming your mind than it's going to be a struggle for you to achieve success in Network Marketing.

Success requires you to get rid of negativity.

There is so much negativity around us. We hear it on the radio, the television, the newspaper, the Internet and from our friends and family. We are constantly being programmed with waves of negativity. Listening to this kind of programming will take a toll on you. You will develop a negative outlook in life that will affect your Network Marketing business.

How to reprogram yourself

*Be honest with yourself

*Go on a 30 day mental cleanse. Eliminate as much as possible the negative influence around you. Turn off the television, instead read a quality book. Give up the radio. Stop reading the newspaper.

*Next reprogram your mind with positive self-talk.

~ Everyday write down 10 things you are thankful for. It can be for the smallest things such as a sunset, the color blue, being able to get up in the morning to having a car, kisses from a loved one, your dream, etc.

~ Then write down 10 things you acknowledge that you did, like you got up in the morning, you brushed you teeth, you ate a healthy meal, you exercised, you hugged your kids, you made a phone call for network marketing. Anything positive you did counts, even positive thoughts! It only takes 21 days to create a habit. Each day you will be closer to a new you. You can do this.

Amazing things will happen to you.

You will find that the constant mental chatter inside your head will stop. As a side benefit, you will notice that you are listening, truly listening to people. When this happens, you will connect with others in a way that is beyond your wildest imagination!

Yesterday I didn't get everything done that I had planned for my network marketing success. I can do one of two things about that. I can beat myself up and tell myself that I'm no good, I'm lazy, I'll never succeed, I'll never get it all done.

Who does that sound like? Remember the Gremlin? Remember Shirley? Shirley is my negative voice. She doesn't like change. She doesn't support me.

Do you remember the old Disney Donald Duck cartoons when Donald is trying to decide between doing right and wrong? He had a small angel version of himself on one shoulder and a small devil version of himself on the other shoulder. Each was telling him to do their respective bad or good behavior.

Well, I envision my gremlin as the devil version. That's not to say that my gremlin is evil, just negative. Just counter productive. Just the version that struggles to hold me back. Because I visualize this gremlin I can sweep her off my shoulder and continue with the positive view of myself, the empowering view.

I do not have to be perfect. I just have to "be" and then to "do", and then I will "have". Action is better than perfect action. Imperfect action is better than no action at all. As long as I keep striving to do the tasks that get me closer to network marketing success, as long as I envision myself already as a success, then I am.

So I'm leaving yesterday behind and today is the first day of my life for success in network marketing.

I woke up this morning and hit the floor running! Wow! Another day! Another day to learn more fun secrets about network marketing and how to make it a success. Every day I learn a little more about the fun world of MLM and am amazed when I talk to people on the phone that are not making it. As I listen to them talk I understand why it is a struggle for them to reach out. Want some answers? Good.

For years we have had a saying “Put on a happy face”. Remember? Oh, this is so infectious, even when you are talking on the phone. Happiness is catching and when you are talking to a prospect you need to spill over this attitude. They will feel it in your voice. It vibrates across the lines as if it were a living thing. And it is!

Why is happiness so important? Because it starts with your attitude, it is this inner peace a person has that comes from the depth of your soul. We usually feel happy when we are free of worry and fears. There is a bad word. Fear. When we consciously are aware of fears in our lives and we let them possess us, we are letting go of our control over fear. When we face our fears and realize much of it comes of what we don’t know we can get a handle on them. Take the worse case scenario. Then take control and alter any part of that fear as best you can. We as humans want to win, we have desires and dreams and when we focus on these positive attitudes, sometimes the fear situation fades away. It takes care of itself. When you have inner peace with yourself through meditation, your mind becomes a peaceful place. Make it a habit to think positive.

Some of the ways we can start making happiness a daily attribute is;

· Change you outlook. When fear comes, quickly replace it with your perfect
day. This is a place in your mind that only you can go to. Even if it is imaginary, for you it is pleasant, it is serene, it is peaceful. Block out the negative. If you cultivate a habit of not focusing on fear, you will soon learn to instantly be able to react in a positive way. Those around you will feel your confidence, your enthusiasm and want to be around you.

· Instead of thinking about the problem, think of solving those problems.

· The T.V. and radio play a huge part of our lives. How about going on a 30 day Mental Cleanse. Shut off the T.V, forget the newspaper, and turn off the radio. What do you hear? Wow! Silence! How long has it been since you have been in the world of Silence? Kind of cool! You will discover you can think, you can actually become focused, honed in, zeroed in. The solutions that have been evading you will surface easily.

· Every day devote some special time just for you. Thirty minutes, and hour is even better because you can go into you mind and think. How long has it been since you have been in a quite place, just you, yourself and listened to the ocean, or a breeze whispering through the trees, or stopped to smell the flowers, or picked up a kitten and looked into its eyes. Guys, this is heavy stuff. You need it too.

Everyday do something that makes you feel good. It does not have to be something big, something small, but significant to you. Buy a new book, a motivational book or tape, have an ice cream cone (only one). Each day do something for someone else. It can be a kind word, a smile, a hearty handshake. Let people know “I care”. With happiness bubbling over, you have just become a leader. A leader? Yes! People will want to be with you. They don’t care about the company you are with as long as they can be with positive, happy people, who are going places. They want to go where you are going, because you have given them a dream, a little light at the end of the tunnel that says “I can do this too!”

Always expect the best. Expect happiness. Smile. Walk down the street and smile at someone you do not know. Oh boy, the look on their face; it’s priceless!

I know what you are thinking, what does this have to do with network marketing. Everything, my friend! Everything. Take a look at some of the top leaders of companies. Oh sure, you will find the obnoxious reds, the bullies, the money hungry people out there. But take another look and you will see a “team” who together is working toward a goal and they are gaining, they are winning because happiness is a permanent attitude with them. They have nasty days. They have the down side of network marketing, but you would never know it. With persistence they move forward. Always, they move forward. Always they emanate happiness.

So, try the 30 Mental Cleanse. Try it for 2 days. Try it for 5 days. Then go 10 and before you know it you will have gone 30 days. Once you have done this for 30 days you will know a peace that passes understanding. Everything in your life begins to focus. You see the big picture. Now you will have created not only an attitude but a burning desire. It will overwhelm you. Let happiness, inner peace and yes, love, take your network marketing to the next level of success.

I like talking about network marketing success and I don't see failure myself BUT I keep getting the same question again and again:

Why most network marketers fail?
It seems that many souls are afraid of failing and that makes them paralyzed from taking any action. (There are no failures in life just mistakes that you should learn from) .

Let's discuss some reasons for lack of network marketing success and I will prove to you that not as many people fail in mlm.

1) Most distributors quit before 60-90 days!
Did these people fail?
The answer is: NO- These distributors have never expected any success. They probably did not understand that network marketing is a business that requires learning new skills and hard work. What is the reason? most mlm presentations lead with hype!

Let me give you examples: "Join now the matrix we will fill the matrix for you" - "Rush it is a binary plan: position yourself now, etc..."

So you are recruiting lazy people with welfare mentality.
Then after they join, you ask them to call people, listen to conference calls, set goals, and expect rejection and work! Good luck, lol.

2) You closed them!
If the prospect doesn't have a big dream and big reasons to join you and they joined you because you kept chasing them and manipulated them.
After they join they will not follow up any recommendations and they will not work.
Did these people fail? No - You got them into the deal; they are not interested in success.
MLM is an army of volunteers, prospects should close themselves.

3) Lack of training:
Most companies training sucks and this is a fact. If the sponsor teaches them to make a list of their friends and family and that's the only lead generation they teach. How do you expect them to succeed? If they are lucky, they will find Mentoring for free.

MLM training must include marketing lessons offline and online, writing ads, targeting the market to generate plenty of leads.
Prospecting should be painless. Teaching rejection free prospecting is essential. People will try to avoid pain more than they try to gain pleasure.
Did these people fail? Yes and No. Real leaders will search for answers, they will learn marketing and they will teach it to their team members.

4) Compensation plans that work against personality types:
That's a long discussion and I do not have time for it here.

5) Poor self esteem/lack of vision/lack of belief/lack of support:
This is may be one of the real reasons for failure.
Any training program should include self development program. Self growth is critical to any business.
If you do not have good self esteem and you do not see yourself as a success before you even talk, you do not have a persona; you have no power of persuasion. You can not attract prospects to you. You are not magnetic.

That's why we have in the mentoring for free our Saturday calls where we read motivational books that changes the poor beliefs in some people.

Randy Gage one of the famous mlm trainers during the master mind IV put this as the #1 reason for failure. The only way he succeeded is when he destroyed his belief systems.
He used to belive that rich people are evil, he never reached success until he realized this poor belief and destroyed it.

Some are encircled with poor belief systems induced by TV, newspapers and even religion.

Some Christian for example uses the Christ and the bible to induce a belief system against the rich. For example: The idea that Jesus is born poor and you can not go to heaven if you are rich.

The same bible is interpreted completely differently!

Jim Rhon and Doug Firebaugh for example use the bible to empower themselves. They extract the empowering quotes in the bible.

Doug for example sees Jesus as the original networker. Jesus was able to recruit people by the millions!

I do believe that most network marketers who look for answers will find them soon or later.
Now, it may take some people couple of months or years till they find the formula.

The ONLY failure is the one that makes you stop!!

I hope this will answer this question. If you can see most people who join mlm companies fail but leaders with great desire soon or later will find the right company and the right team.

Struggling in your Network Marketing business is like being shipwrecked and not having the right tools to mend your boat. How long can you survive with limits resources?

Image having been told by your upline you have to do things to build your Network Marketing business that you just don’t want to do. If you are saying, ‘I don’t have to image. This is reality.’ Keep reading. Maybe….

Your upline told you have to say things you just don’t want to say.
Your company’s training makes you feel uncomfortable on the inside.
Your Network Marketing business is causing you stress. You are constantly thinking, how am I going to meet my quota for this month?
You have been told rejection is the name of the game. It is just part of the business so get use to it.
You have been told just get out of your comfort zone.

Guess what, you are not alone. 85% of the folks out there feel uncomfortable with this form of Network Marketing.

Who made those rules, anyways?

Those rules where created by 15% of folks whose motto is “get out of my way.” These folks leave dead bodies everywhere. They are sincere and are convinced this is the only way to do this business.

The above strategies do not work for the average person because it doesn’t fit who they are. An approach like this irritates your living soul. How can you have success when you are not given the right tools?

Most people do not want to talk to 10 people a day and get 9 no’s. Why make yourself uncomfortable?

Most people don’t want to work harder. They already work hard and hate it. That is why they wanted to get into Network Marketing.

Most people don’t want people telling them what they MUST do. They just want to have fun and enjoy life.

My advice to you is become a non-conformist. You don’t need to be like someone else. You can not duplicate yourself. You are an individual. God made you like that, so be you. You are perfect just the way you are. You can live your life the way you choose. You don’t have to get outside your comfort zone. You don’t have to do a darn thing that you don’t want to. This is your business. You build it the way you want it built. So tear up the crusty old rule book. Toss it out to sea for the sharks to devour.

Here is a secret I found that works. People are attracted to enthusiastic, sincere folks. Stop chasing folks and start caring about them. Be their friend. By being thoughtful, sensitive and supportive of others, you will develop friendships for a life time. These folks will be the best business partners you will ever have.

Mend your broken ship before all your dreams are swift out to sea. With the right tools, you can watch your business change from a survival mode to a successful fun loving adventure.

Be - Do - Have for Network Marketing Success

Many people think that you work hard to have what you want and then you can be who you want and this creates network marketing success. This is the opposite of that has to take place.

When you consider that people are attracted to people who know where they're going, who are enthusiastic, and comfortable with who they are, doesn't it make sense that you have to accomplish the "BE" part first?

This all goes back to minding your mind, to changing your thoughts. This goes back to training your subconscious to change who you are. This helps defeat your Gremlins, the voice that keeps you from the next part, which is taking action, or at least keeping them at bay.

Once you are who you need to be, you, with the willing help of your subconscious, are able to get into action - the "DO" part.

Following all the action in your network marketing business that creates success, you will "HAVE" the things that you desire.

Building real residual income: The magic of network marketing

I was reading Chapter 19- The magic of network marketing: Building real residual income by Barry Friedman in the book the ultimate guide to network marketing.

He shares in this chapter the same concepts that we share in the mentoring for free.

He explains how the residual income can be so significant and not well appreciated.
Obviously, it is better to make $10,000/month forever than making $50,000/month for 3 months.

That's one of the reason I got angry and left orenda international because of their front overloading system and the multiple breakaways in their compensation plans. Obviously, I did not understand these concepts initially until I got a slap in the face when I noticed that they stopped paying me as soon as I stopped working. Breakaways broke my heart ;) , I recovered though, lol. I am mainly interested in recurring income.

Barry Friedman recommends that you explain this concept to your prospects so they can see beyond the immediate cash money.

He gives an example:

If you worked hard in your business for couple of years and you were able to make $3000 residual income, then it is equivalent to 3% interest rate on $1,000,000. Congratulations you are officially making like a millionaire!

Actually, in my own company presentation we use this concept to explain the benefits of multi-level marketing and the recuring income. You may want to add this concept to your company presentation. It will help your prospects to see beyond their noses.

It seems that Barry Friedman is Big Al student, these are the principles taught by Big Al to the industry.

In order for you to get a real residual income, you product should fulfill these criteria:

High demand

Great value

Limited competition

Affordable pricing

Continuous need

Ready availability

Geographical availability

Products or services backed by a guarantee or warranty

He discusses in this chapter more concepts that I will share with you in future posts.

How to recruit new prospects nationwideOctober 02, 2000By Michael Sheffield

Q: I'm new to network marketing and want to really build my business. Most of my prospects live too far away for me to go see them. What's the best way to recruit them? I don't have the money to fly to see people all over the country.

A: In the MLM business, what you're referring to is called "long distance sponsoring." This form of recruiting is critical to the success of today's technologically empowered organization builder. With many of today's companies offering worldwide sponsoring potential, knowing how to communicate a compelling long distance message can substantially impact your profits.

A forward-thinking company already has many of the tools needed to assist you. These consist of brochures, audio and video tapes, and other leave-behind pieces or direct-mail pieces. Unfortunately, nondiscriminent use of these recruiting tools can be expensive and means it's difficult to measure the results. Most companies also support distributors through company-sponsored national conference calls and fax-on-demand systems. Probably the two most important tools used today by successful business builders are the telephone and the Internet. With the competitive cost of long distance services and the increase in prospects who are online at their home and office, these are the areas to which you should direct most of your long distance sponsoring efforts.

Long distance sponsoring consists of two approaches. First, you have to work your "warm market." These are the people with whom you already have a relationship and who are usually open to your message. The second area consists of the people you don't know personally but who need to hear about your opportunity. Herein lies your biggest opportunity.
Working with your warm market is easy since your personal relationship assures an increased opportunity for a positive telephone interaction. However, having a concise and compelling phone presentation is still important. Your warm market contacts will receive you well but may turn cold to a recruiting pitch if you don't approach things correctly. Working with your "cold market" (all those strangers) is a bit different and requires some additional skills.
No matter what type of prospect your long distance prospect is, for the best success I recommend using the buddy system of sponsoring. Not everyone is a sales "closer" (someone who knows how to get a prospect to say yes to a sales offer). It takes experience and, to a great extent, instinct to do this well. Using a team approach works best. In typical network marketing situations, a new distributor will set up a personal appointment with a prospect and take their sponsor, or a skilled upline member, to the meeting with them to assist in the close. It's a form of on-the-job training.

Initiating long distance sponsoring uses these same two-on-one dynamics during a three-way conference call between you, your sponsoring buddy and your prospect. It's critical that you have a conference call feature on your phone. It's not a very expensive add-on to your current phone service. And you'll use your company's Web site as an online product information and recruiting brochure to support your phone presentation during or after the fact.
Here's how to do it: Call your warm market friend and let them know you've started a new business and would like to explain the products to them. Mention that you'll need 10 to 15 minutes. Even if they're not interested, it will help you practice your sales presentation. If it's not a convenient time, set an appointment for later. When you make your appointed call, tell them your new business trainer is also on the line and make an introduction. Now your recruiting buddy can handle the presentation with you, staying silent unless asked to participate. Either during or after the call, you'll ask your prospect to go to the company Web site and look at your products and business information. Most companies allow prospects to enroll online. If not, faxing an application can work or, if necessary, you can mail literature and an application.

Even if your prospect makes a positive commitment during the phone call, you'll need to follow up within one or two days. Have something new to tell them that they didn't hear the night before. Begin building enthusiasm again. Start making plans with them for phone and Internet training, and commit them to the next national company conference call with a guest.
If they want to think it over, don't be discouraged. When you talk to them the next day, don't ask if they're ready to enroll; assume they are. Even after they've enrolled, they may have second thoughts. That's why you need to contact them several times over the next week to strengthen their decision and demonstrate your interest in their success. Long distance sponsoring will work for you if you work the system.

MLM secrets I discovered from the MLM university

I joined MLM University because I was not having success in my Network Marketing business. I believed with the right training I too can become successful. One secret taught by MLM University is the importance of using the right verbiage when introducing folks into your business. Other secrets taught include closing techniques and how to overcome objections.

Sounds great, right?

Only, I had a problem. Because of my personality, the techniques taught by MLM University were not natural and I struggled. So I practiced and practiced their techniques. I reasoned, if I verbalize it enough, it will become second nature. I even took this training to the market place. I got results but it wasn't pretty. Most people hid when I approached them again and I felt awful.

Soon I realized in order to be successful I would have to change my personality and become someone I’m not. I would have to sell, something I do not like. They call it selling by attraction. Yum, how attractive is it really?

I kept thinking there has to be another way to do this business.

During my struggle I searched for answers. I found the truth.

Three MLM secrets I learned.

I learned that Network Marketing is not a sales business. 90% of the population don't even like pushy, 'salesy' people. WOW.

I learned Network Marketing is a people and mentoring business. The key to success is understanding people. Study people and find out how to help them reach their dreams. By reaching out and touching people's hearts your own dreams will be fulfilled.

I learned that real Network Marketing team building is voluntary. Now I never ask people to join me in my business. People voluntary come to me. That's truly rejection free! I learned when you use closing techniques you also closing the relationship. People buy from people who they know, like and trust. An easy way to get people to trust you is by not closing them.

Now I'm having fun building my business. This approach has taken the pressure off of selling and trying to get people in my deal. Instead I'm sharing and building relationships with people quickly and easily. My approach to my network marketing business is ethical and I can talk with folks comfortable and with confidence.

What about you? My question is “how would you like to run your business” Are you going to network using the old sell,sell,sell and recruit, recruit techniques or are you interested in using the up dated system approach where you build it once and build it right.

Are your core values in alignment with your goals? If they are not, it is much more difficult to have network marketing success.

What are your core values? They are things that are important to you, such as freedom, nature, peace, service to others, beauty, simplicity, honesty, loyalty, etc. There are many core values that people have. Often it is difficult to identify them.

As a professional health coach, one way I help my clients discover their primary values is to describe a time in their life that was wonderful. Then I listen for the values that come out of the narrative. I then help them see if their goals are in alignment with these values. For example, if, as a leader, you will be doing a lot of speaking engagements that depend on a great deal of travel, but one of your main values is to spend a lot of time with your family, then they are out of alignment. In this case, perhaps you will need to change the number or the type of speaking engagements to which you commit. Otherwise, the disconnect will keep you from being balanced and may interfere with network marketing success.

3. Green: 15% Book keepers, accountants. They love data and are very anyletic people. But they miss the big picture because they are to busy anylising an opportunity.

Finding the right Network Marketing Company is like slipping into a perfectly fitting boot. It will feel comfortable and provide the support you need to take the necessary steps to success Like the song says, ‘those boots will take you walking'. One of those days those boots will take you walking down the highway to big, big success.

Imagine stepping into an ill-fitted boot. From the outside, the boot looks beautiful. But as your foot slides into the boot your toes squeeze against the ridgit leather wall as if they were in prison. It does not take much for your sensitive heel to form a blister. Each step causes distress. Although the boot is beautiful, it is not a match for you. It goes against the natural shape of your living soul.

So an ill-suited Network marketing company will cause pain and frustration. You will be fighting an up hill battle. Instead of building your business, your will be tending to your wounds. You will ask yourself “What is wrong with me? Why can’t I do this business?”

6 Key Points in Finding a Network Marketing Company

Company integrity.There is a simple way to evaluate a Network Marketing company’s integrity. They will tell you! That’s right, it’s written in their Policies and Procedures. Read them before you sign. Make sure it is poison free. This is a contract, please understand the rules so that this company will not terminate you and steal your check. Does the P&P protect the distributor or the company? Watch out for the terms like ongoing training, ongoing recruiting, ongoing selling. Rod Cook, the MLM watch dog will tell you never join any company that has more than 30 pages of polices and procedures.
Company management experience. The leaders of your company must have true Network Marketing experience. Is the leader a suit or have they built a downline? Healthy companies understand what it takes to be successful from the bottom up. They have been in the trenches and understand what the distributor goes through.
Compensation plan. There are a number of reasons why Network Marketers join different companies before they find the right fit. One reason is Network Marketers fail to understand that the structure of the compensation plan drives the behavior in the field. For an example, a choleric personality does best in a stair step breakaway plan. This plan promotes selling and recruiting, something that is very natural for a choleric to do. Your personality needs to match the type of compenstion plan for true success. The compensation plan has to be one where average part time people can make money. Look for a company the pays on volume and allows you to go wide and deep without breakage.
System for success. A step by step action plan that average people can follow is vital. An updated system of success includes up line support, training communication skills, teaching team support and implementing duplication. The process involves self improvement, personal growth, positive thinking and self talk.
Products.. The company needs to have more than one product. The products must be remarkable and stand out from the crowd. It must be reasonable priced and must be sold retail to friends and family. It must be consumable so that folks can reorder.
Timing in the industry. It's important to look at the company's timing in the industry and your timing with that company.

When a person finds the right fitted company and they use updated skills, success will be theirs. Research and educate yourself about this business. There is wealth in education and knowledge is powerful.

Headlines for Network Marketing Success

We all know that headlines are designed to attract attention, right? It's the same for network marketing success. How so?

In a newspaper or magazine do you read all the articles? Probably not, unless you have nothing else to do. If you want to be successful in network marketing you will likely confine your reading to just the articles that have headlines that grab your attention. When you do newsletters, flyers, e-zines, or articles, the headline can be the difference between people deciding to look at your information or not.

But did you ever consider that a headline could also be the first line out of your mouth in a live presentation? Do you focus very much on a presentation where the first line is the run-of-the-mill or the same-old-same-old words you've heard a million times? Do you listen closely to a demonstration that starts out plain and boring?

One of my mentors teaches that if the "headline" at a presentation is interesting, exciting, and attention grabbing, it almost doesn't matter what the rest of the presentation is.
